I purchased two wheelchair storage boxes July 17,2023 for $55.00, at onemorelayer3D store, on EBay.By December 7, 2023 a box lid had fallen off and would not stay on.By January 20, 2024 the second box lid had come off, and isn't usable now either.Owner ***** offered to send another at $12.50 I can not afford to spend more money on a product that is faulty. It is supposed to keep dust out according to his product details, but the owner claims some dust caused the boxes lid failure on both boxes. The hinges are poorly designed, the lid comes off easily and once snapped back on, it continues to fall off, do to minimal material used in the hinge design.Owner declined my suggestion to send me one replacement box, without charge, and for that reason, says he doesn't not want to sell to, or deal with me. As result for a resolution, I am asking for a refundBusiness response

Good day,
Nowhere on my listing do I mention guaranteeing these boxes stand up to the rigors of everyday use for more than 30 days. Obviously, some wheelchair users are more difficult on things than others. Personally, I have an original prototype on my personal wheelchair that has been there for going on two years. It has taken several bumps over the years and has had the lid knocked off more than once. I simply snap the same old lid back on and it has performed admirably ever since. I have one on the other side of my chair that has been there for almost a year with the original lid, still attached and working well. It even has some paint on it from a doorjamb.
I've sold 278 of these boxes on **** and have only had one negative review, out of 55, pertaining to the install. Everybody else seems to enjoy them for the most part.
I try very hard to be reasonable, but I simply cannot send out a replacement, free of charge, when a buyer breaks their box 5-7 months from the date of purchase. That's said, when this buyer originally reached out, I offered a 30% discount. That was too much, even though they asked if one could be replaced at a minimal cost. I then asked if there was any number that would work and was told no.
Eight months after the original purchase date, when their second box was damaged, they reach out again. I offered to send this buyer a factory second (something I usually sell at 50% the cost of an original) if they would pick up the cost of shipping, $6.80 or so, but that was too much. He demanded a new box, free of charge, 8 months after the original purchase. At this point, I was done.
Yes, I feel our boxes should last more than 5-7 months under NORMAL working conditions and they do. I'm not sure what this user did, but at this point, I can't even offer a refund through **** if I wanted to. Heck, **** only allows you to refund the seller up to 90 days after the original transaction. Our boxes lasted more than 90 days and would've lasted longer under normal conditions.
I'm sorry this user is unsatisfied with the durability of our boxes, but at this point (eight months after purchase) I do not feel it is right to refund this buyer. I offered multiple times to come up with a viable solution. I do not sell a faulty product and take offense to being accused of such. I do my best to provide a quality product that would otherwise be unavailable to the wheelchair community.
Have a nice day!Business response

Good day,
This sale was eight months ago. I am no longer able to provide a refund as the sale was through ***** **** only allows you to refund a customer up to 90 days after the date of sale. Even if I wanted to refund the seller, I can't. I feel the sellers request for a refund is unreasonable.
Thank you!Customer response

The first box failed at 3 months,
**** review option unavailable at 90 days.
After the second box lid started falling off,
I reached out on **** "CONTACT SELLER" option.
The seller did not respond timely,
it took a month.
When seller finally responded,
Seller claimed that our first correspondence
with a picture had been reviewed
and dust was visible on the box, Which
caused its failure.
****** claimed that "I LIVE IN A DIRTY PLACE"
The sellers listing claims that box
"PROTECTS ITEMS FROM (MOST) DUST"
I did not see it unreasonable to ask for "1" replacement box without charge.
Seller offered to send 1 factory seconds box,
at $6.45 shipping.
I had to decline to spend more money on
a faulty product.

The box hinge is of poor design,
made with minimal material,
they do not last.
Hinge is a simple bump and dimple design,
It will malform when lid first comes off,
then will repeatedly come off,
till it will not stay on.
The lids started coming off
and failing from
"TYPICAL" use.
The boxes were used on my wheelchair, I open lid, put items in, and close lid.
The seller has only received one negative review
because the option to reveiw the product on ****
is unavailable after 90 days.

Seller claims "BOXES PROTECT FROM DUST"
Seller claims I live in a "DIRTY PLACE"
Seller claims "DUST" caused product failure
Claims "UNDER TYPICAL USE"
Seller claims
"NOT GUARANTEED TO STAND UP TO MORE THAN 30 DAYS OF EVERYDAY USE"
---not mentioned in sellers **** LISTING.

In response to my complaint with Better Business Bureau, seller claims that the boxes he uses, has his box lids come off, more than once.
This isn't explained in the description of his product on ****.
As I experienced, the box lids will easily come off, which worsens the poorly designed hinge, so that they won't stay on.
Boxes are poorly designed, a faulty product.
Reviews that seller receives are all equal to or less than
90 days.
_________________________________________________
Having box lids fall off for the user to pick up of the ground, if not ran over first, is not a good thing for a wheelchair user.
Having to replace a box can be a difficult task as well for wheelchair users.
The seller found a niche to a product that the wheelchair community needs, but is profiting of a faulty product.
That admittedly is faulty, through the response to the BBB complaint.
As a wheelchair user myself,
I do not recommend this product.
Even if offered replacement boxes, I would decline,
they were a waste of money and time.
-Thank you Better Business Bureau -
