Purchased vehicle from Auto 206 for $23,000 with ****** miles (05/22). Within the first 4 hours of driving the car off the lot the check engine light came on. I also noticed metal scraping noise identified emanating from wheel and potential leak under engine block and to Auto 206 within next few days. Auto 206 said completed inspection and diagnosed engine light as worn turbo thermostat stuck open/closed and replaced with aftermarket thermostat. Metal scraping noise and engine leak left undiagnosed. Vehicle returned within couple days and I immediately notice metal scraping noise still occurring. Returned car to Auto 206 immediately even though I asked to take it to another shop for a second opinion, but they refused. They diagnose metal scraping noise as worn serpentine belt and loose engine components. They replaced serpentine belt and completed other repairs without reporting to vehicle service history. Car returned to me, and I still notice scraping noise and check engine light comes back on. Returned car again to ******* (they refused to let me take it elsewhere and reimburse me). They have ********************* inspect wheel and found brake pad was installed backwards causing sound. Engine light identified as incompatibility with aftermarket thermostat they installed and car (wrong type of thermostat installed) they replace thermostat with manufacturer thermostat. Took over a month and a half to have car returned. Already started financing vehicle and making payments. Transmission stops working and I notice a large leak is found under car. I have car towed to *************** where they diagnose leak is due to transmission fluid line incorrectly installed by mechanic previously. Line connection requires special tooling to remove and is located forward of the transmission. Leak has caused significant damage to transmission requiring replacement. Auto ******************************************************** incorrect line connection. They will not claim responsibility.

I do not contest most of what the **** has stated.  We sold him the Jeep 05/22 and shortly after taking delivery a check engine light came on with a small leak and an intermittent metal scraping sound.  We provided him a loaner car and attempted to resolve the issue.  At the time the factory Jeep thermostat was on back order so we used an aftermarket part that we were assured would work, we did the repair, which addressed the check engine light and leak and could not identify the scraping noise.  We returned the Jeep to the customer and the check engine light came back on due to incompatibility with the aftermarket part.  We once again provided a loaner car and discovered that the cause of the problem was the aftermarket part, we ordered the factory part which was on back order and it took some time to complete the job.  My records indicate that the brake pads were not on backward but that the intermittent griding sound was from a loose dust shield that goes over the brakes.  Months later **** contacted me about an oil leak, that we determined from his photos he sent us was actually fuel.  **** admitted he had parked his vehicle in a bad area and the fuel system had been vandalized in a failed attempt to steal fuel.  I suggested **** file an insurance claim, which he did, to get the fuel system repaired.  Days later after the repair was completed at the Jeep dealer in ******* a transmission line came loose which resulted in loss of fluid and likely destroying the transmission.  It is our belief that transmission failure is not related to Auto 206 but is related to the vandalism.  While we have denied responsibility, we are working with the customer to trade him into another vehicle and have provided him a loaner car while we work through the process.
