Was having massage therapy in spring 2020 and prior for frozen shoulder. Stopped going during covid, returned back in October with a new prescription/injury for sciatica for massage therapy, was covered for 90 days for new injury under my medical paid $25 co pay each visit. Found out on Dec 2020 that my insurance was not paying and l was liable for it. Spent a lot of time trying to get my insurance to pay, they said they would not as I did not have correctly completed notes from Experience momentum to show I was making progress and my 90 day coverage was up. EM did not notify me and I was still continuing to have treatment without knowing. Also, found out that EM were billing my insurance for my new injury which had coverage under the old injury claim code which was not covered (thats also why they did not pay). I actually was covered all along but it was their admin error. They billed me, did not deduct the $25 co pay I had already paid off the amount due and actually charged me more than they would of got paid from my insurance per treatment. They did write off the treatment I had in the spring. This whole thing was their error, they are responsible to billing and writing up correct medical notes to the insurance company. They sent me to a debt collection agency so I was forced to pay. After about 15 calls to the insurance company and digging deep, the story EM gave me was incorrect, my insurance would of paid, if had they billed using the correct code for my new injury.
