Two years ago Aurora Quality Buildings built a cabin for us on **************. We were informed by the County that it did not meet code. Aurora Quality Buildings has refused to cooperate with us to remedy the situation. Our Lawyer has sent two letters requesting the blueprints per the contract and they have refused to acknowledge the request. In-person visits and requests were unsuccessful.Customer response

**** delivered letter from our lawyer to Aurora Quality Buildings on August 24, 2023.
February 9, February 22, 2023 e-mails were sent to Aurora Quality Building and they didn't respond. April 24, 2023 our lawyer mailed a letter to AQB and there was no response. I hand delivered the letter again to AQB on August 24, 2023. Again no response. They have refused to communicate or cooperate with us to resolve our concerns.

We do not do any permits or engineering for the buildings to meet local codes as we state in all of our advertising and contracts. We do have some blueprints only available for our stock buildings as shown in the brochures and website. The building that was built was dramatically changed from the demo building on our sales lot. ( 1. Stair way location moved, 2. Widow size and locations moved 3. Door locations moved. 4. Deck size changed. 5. Added second Dormer to roof line. 6. Added interior wall. 7. added Pier blocks.
Terms and conditions on the back of the contract in the " Customer to supply the following" section states "Customer is responsible for any required permits or approvals. Blueprints are available for 3.50 per sq ft per floor." Blueprints were not asked for at the time of the contract. The building was modified from the demo building and stock blueprints wouldn't be applicable to this build.
In the "Misc Extras" section it states. Customers responsibility to check with local codes> Engineering and Upgrades to pass codes at addition cost, and can be quite substantial depending on snow loads.
On the "Information sheet" in the customers contract she initialed in the "Permits" section Aurora Quality buildings is not responsible for any permits, approval, or decisions we may have to make if customer is not available. our best judgement will be used.
In the "green brochure" it states. " Customer responsibility to check with local codes and permitting requirements.
Blueprints, permits, engineering & upgrades to pass codes of any shed, outbuilding or living space are in addition to base pricing, and can be quite substantial depending on snow & wind loads."
In the "White ********* it states " No Permit required up to ********************* counties. Customers responsibility to check with local codes.

A Our buildings are built as portable non permanent structures. We don't provide blueprints, permits, engineering and site plans for any customers or **********************. We leave that responsibility completely on the customer and encourage them to check with there local building code regualtions.

I am rejecting this response because several statements made by Aurora Quality Buildings are false. In the contact signed on 12/21/21 it states that blueprints are available for $3.50 per square foot. It doesn't stipulate that only stock ones are available or state a time frame when they can only be requested. If AQB added additions to the structure without any blueprints to go by that really puts into question the construction quality of the work they do. They state in their response they do not provide blueprints for customers contradicting what they said in earlier and in violation of the contract.Furthermore, they have acted in extremely bad faith. Management refused to reply to numerous attempts on our part to inquire about the blueprints. They even refused to acknowledge or respond to a letter from our lawyer send by certified and first class mail and a second letter which was hand delivered. Once they received our $60,620.41 that was all they cared about. It's surprising they can stay in business with how they treat customers.
