I am a caregiver for my brother. Doctor prescribed a new hospital bed for safety reasons. The company that had supplied his old bed no longer dealt with beds so we had to go with a new company that the clinic had on file. We received the new bed on 11/17/2023. Looks cheaply made but things aren't made like they use to be, way back when. Well, the cheap plastic wheel broke, they came to replace it. That night the wheel busted again so I called them to let them know. They acted like I did it on purpose. But they did come and replace it. Still a cheap plastic wheel.Today, 2/23/2024, I called regarding the wheel again, brake tab broke and the wheel is in permanent braking position. The lady on the phone said it would cost the patient, who is disabled and on a fixed income, $200 for them to come service it. I told her the patient never had to pay for any services, from the other companies, regarding any of his medical equipment since he is on ********* She stated that there is a note to charge us since it keeps happening. Like we broke the wheels on purpose or something! I was really upset that about the situation! The company goes with a manufacture that makes cheap medical equipment and they charge the state more than what it probably cost and then turn around and make the patients pay for it when it breaks!? There are other medical equipment companies that makes better quality equipment but I guess that'll cut into their profit! I stated, So you guys supply patients, who obviously need these medical equipment, with mediocre equipment and then charge them to service it?!? That is so wrong!! We've only had the bed for 3 months!! I called the patients case worker and stated what company I was dealing with and they said they are familiar with the company and complaints!I am not happy how they treat patients who are in need!! They are making money off the elderly and disabled with no compassion!!! It's not like I'm asking for a new bed! I just need the wheel fixed!!
