Rover is a sham. Where do I begin. I have been sitting through rover since 2019. I had a 5 star rating and was part of their star program. On 10/11 I was made aware that a dog owner put in a report against me saying that a dog left sick. Rover asked for my statement and I told them that the dog was fine when they left my home, they werent ill and I had video proof. On 10/14 I found out that they deactivated my account without the burden of proof the dog got ill in my care. I tried to appeal it and they told me it a wasnt allowed. The symptoms the owner was describing were those of parvo. I asked rover if they require owners to prove shot records and they told me no they dont but as a sitter thats something I could require. They basically told me it didnt matter that the illness may have been a result of the owner not vaccinating that they were still staying with my deactivation. Fine whatever Ill start my own. They canceled all my upcoming bookings leaving my current booking active. Fast forward to 10/20. The booking they left open was due to end that night at 8. They canceled it and locked me out of my account. All while the dog is still in my home and care and I have no way to contact the owner should I need to or vise Versa. Now Ive been booking through rover long enough to know when a booking is canceled through rover Im no longer paid. Rover is stating theyre still paying me but I have no faith in that. Ive been in contact with the ******************* and the ***********************. If someone doesnt pay me the $380 dollars Im owed for the two weeks this dogs been with me someones being sued.

Just an unfortunate experience. My Rover sitter started her visit via the app yet my camera and building security camera/app had no record of her every arriving. Rover fought me tooth and nail stating she did come. This same sitter also sent someone else for a visit - unauthorized. Rover stood by her. Do not use this service. It is uncouth and not worthy of your business. Find a friend or family member to sit for your pet.

Ripped me off for $400. We booked our honeymoon and made the mistake of choosing Rover. Unfortunately we had to postpone our honeymoon, and we were trying to pay off our wedding. We canceled our booking and we were told we would get a refund no problem. My husband and I now have a joined bank account, so I closed the account I booked with. Rover apparently issued the refund to my old account. No problem. It's closed, it should bounce back. I called the bank to make sure this would be the case. A month later it still says refunded, my bank has no record of them issuing the refund, and no one at Rover will help. I called and explained my situation, the agent was very rude and told me to call my bank. When I explained again that I did call my bank. ****** proceeded to scream at me and called me a liar. I've reached a dead end with them, no one will help me and now I'm out $400. I've even reached out to the CEOs on ********. Waiting for a response seems ambitious at this point.

My dog sitter left our house and failed to return for over 10 hours, leaving my dog without a bathroom break for over 12 hours. When we saw on the cameras that she had not been home all day, we asked her what was going on and she lied to us multiple times saying that she had been there and let her out a couple of times. After pushing, she later admitted that she had never been home. I reported her to Rover and left a review on her page. Rover has since done nothing with the report and they will not release the review until the sitter reviews me first. Rover only cares about their reputation and not our animals. I will never use Rover again, but I'm more concerned about someone booking this person to watch their animals.

Im a sitter and have used the Rover platform for a couple years now , in addition to having private clients. Their customer support is a joke. They had the wrong location on my profile for I cant tell you how long and I finally got through to someone on the phone to simply fix it. Ive lost count how many times I tried to get help through email. I also have not shown up in searches for my exact location and for the dates that Im available and I update my calendar all the time and when Ive contacted them about it REPEATEDLY, all I get back is the standard monologue that the company gives them to read; I understand and why dont you do the following steps and maybe youll show up sooner blah blah blah. Its ridiculous. And all this for them taking 20 to 25% of the sitters rate.

I am not nor have I ever been a user of ******************** that did not prevent my family and I from being violently attacked by an illegally unleashed German ******* while we were walking on public property. My husband and I trying to enjoy a nice day walk our two dogs on public property and just where minding our business. When an incompetent rover sitter came out of a house with an untrained ********************* and without a leash which is illegal on NY state. I was hospitalized our family was traumatized the sitter the owner and rover took zero accountability. They like to hide behind the typical **** excuse of we are just a 3rd party facilitator . But they are directly responsible for facilitating the incident that put the life of my Family in danger. Ive done my research Ive spoke to former employees. My attempts to be compensated for the trauma I endured were ignored. Rover.com I dont care about your terms and conditions I am not beholden to them or any other ways you have users give away their rights to use your animal abuse platform. You will be hearing from my lawyers.

I've had my fair share of negative experiences with Rover but until now, they've all been fairly minor. My sister personally had a bad experience with them when the sitter literally lost her dog and it took us 3 weeks to get the dog home. I've heard of peoples dogs dying with a rover sitter and them keeping the owners completely in the dark. This company is SHADY!!! My dog is a few months under 3 years old but has had separation anxiety since I got her as a puppy. She also has a few other medical issues which we have controlled for the most part, but I always try to make anybody who watches her aware of them. About a year ago she started becoming dog aggressive so I knew when I boarded her I wanted someone with no dogs in the home and I wanted to make sure they would not board any dogs while she was with them. That and itself was hard because although they have filters to find homes without dogs, most of them still have dogs even though they say they don't. I finally found a sitter that said that they actually don't have dogs and she told me she would not be boarding any dogs with her. When I go to drop off the dog she has another dog there she told me the dog was leaving soon. When I picked my dog up there was another (different) dog there and I'm convinced this one was their dog. My dog also came back to me in a sedated state. My dog does not tire easily. We regularly walk 5 mi. The minimum walk she gets a day is 2 mi. I know she didn't walk her. There's no way that the dog would have been this tired from exercise. She gave her something other than her own medications or she had to take her to a vet and didn't tell me. When I reached out to Rover they told me they can't tell me what they find out when they look into it. It's my dog!!! You can't tell me what you find out she did to my dog!? Absolutely not. Do not use Rover if you care for your pets at all.

Rover lets unqualified people run scams and try to kill your dog without any avenue for recourse or oversight. I've had two terrible experiences with this company that they refused to make right. A sitter was supposed to house and dog sit for a 10 day vacation. She showed up a day late and lied about it (I have a smart lock and know when people enter) so my neighbor had to walk/feed the dogs. She repeatedly left them alone for ***** hours and asked my neighbor to stop in. She also gave me dog the wrong dose of ********* meds and painkillers which could have seriously hurt him. Rover refused to step in. The second sitter agreed to cancel since she couldn't care for my senior dog but said I'd have to do it on my end. It was within two hours of booking. Only half my money was refunded and the sitter told me after she could've done it for a full refund on her end. She then refused to honor a full refund costing me $380. Rover again refused to step in, insisting I contact her even though she deleted her profile so messages couldn't be sent.
