I hired ****************** to vet out my sprinkler system and replace needed components to ensure it was in good working order. They replaced solenoids, sprinkler heads, nozzles, and the system's timer. The next day, one of the zones next to the house ran for roughly 12 hours, flooding the backyard and basement. This caused roughly $40,000 in damage to *********************. ****************** continues to deny any liability or connection between the malfunction and their work, and seems content with leaving me to foot the repair bills out of pocket.I would strongly caution anyone else from hiring this company.

We were hired by *************** to repair sprinkler zones at his rental property. We worked on the following:

Zone 1 - E front & back lawn rotors- replaced 5 rotors (leaked or didn't work correct)

Zone 2 - E front road strip ** rotors & E rotors by house- replaced all nozzles, 4 popup heads, and 2 rotors. Put different nozzles because the pop *** run on the same zone as rotors. Solenoid replaced due to it being stuck. Now they put out similar water supply Zone 3 -E front lawn pop ***- replaced 2 pop***, capped one head, replaced 4 nozzles. Zone 4 - NW road strip pop ***- dug up 5 heads and leveled them, Replaced 3 nozzles. Zone 5 - SE lawn rotors by back fence- capped 3 heads in the fire pit area, replaced 2 nozzles. Zone 6 - NW front & back lawn rotors- minor adjustments, moved one head, replaced 3 nozzles. Zone 7 - W bed sprays- cleaned the valve as it was stuck open. Tested and all worked. No adjustments needed Zone 8 - E bed sprays- no adjustments needed all worked and shut off properly Zone 9 - N back lawn rotors- minor adjustments

Installed new timer, due to faulty terminal number 7 on the old timer. Reprogrammed the system and tested 4 times. Everything worked and shut off as it should.

The renters called the next day 8/29 saying zone 8 behind the garage was running constantly. We were notified at 1pm. We showed up at 2 pm to investigate. A solenoid went out and caused it to run constantly. *************** was denied by his insurance. Our insurance which we notified (Western National) also denied his claim that we were at fault after sending an adjuster out.  Zone 8 which malfunctioned the following day was not malfunctioning when we were there which is why we did not replace it when we were there. The system was run through 4 times and operated as it should. All zones shut off as they should from the timer, The tenants were aware that everything was operational when we left. There were no sprinklers running when we left. We consulted with Horizon Distributors and their professionals that represent all large irrigation manufacturers. I asked them "is there anything I could have done or predicted that solenoid was going to go bad the next time of operation". All of their responses were "No, there is no way to fix an unpredictable part failure, Solenoids go bad all the time, it is very common and unpredictable when they go bad. It is not uncommon for a zone to be stuck on for multiple hours. It is more uncommon for a basement to flood with a sprinkler zone being on for hours." We have relayed this info to ** many times. This was a sprinkler head that ran the following day and did not shut off. It is located over 30 feet away from his house. There is a giant inditation in the lawn where the neighbors yard and the grass behind the garage slope into. I've told ** many times since this incident that this could be a potential old french drain. It was full of water when I got there on 8/29/23.

We have also been told multiple different amounts that he (***************) has paid. *************** has a balance owed to us of $2,210.38 for spray services and irrigation work we did for him at this rental property. We are currently consulting with our attorney on how to move forward with the slanderous allegations he continues to make.
