On January 26th I walked into Jersey Mikes establishment to order two sandwiches. One was gluten free. When I ordered my sandwiches I noticed one of the employees was not following standard procedures to prevent cross-contamination of Gluten into my Gluten-Free sandwich while preparing it. I kindly asked the store manager if I could get separate lettuce that wasnt tainted with gluten. ****** the store manager, responded in a rude manner, No we cannot separate the lettuce. I explained to her I have a child with a gluten allergy. She told me to go eat somewhere else or dont buy the sandwich. Ive never been talked to like this from an establishment ever. I told her that shes rude and shouldnt talk to paying customers that way. She said I shouldnt be eating there if my son has a gluten allergy, but they serve Gluten Free sandwiches. I was appalled by her bitterness and lack of empathy. I contacted our city ***************** because she was contaminating gluten free food intentionally.
