    Coincidentally, I am also a 75-year-old retiree, and had a bad experience with Apex Air. I have been a maintenance customer for several years, where they send a technician out twice a year to service the heating and air conditioning. I had my air conditioner serviced in April, and on July 4, when I first needed to use the unit, it was not working. Since it was a holiday, I had to speak with an on-call technician who seemed not to know a thing about air conditioners. He told me he could schedule a call, but the way he was going to handle everything was by phoning more experienced people to help him figure out the problem when he got here. The cost was prohibitive, with no guarantee that he would be able to get the unit working. He offered to call the office the next morning for me to schedule a regular appointment, and I accepted. However, when I called the office myself the next morning, the nasty person who answered, ******, told me that the soonest they could send someone out would be eight days later, despite the fact that I was already a maintenance customer with them. When I complained about that, she indicated to me that the manager and owner were right there and did not care. This was during a heat wave. Plus, besides my own health problems as a 75-year-old, I had my one-year-old baby grandson staying with me. We would not be able to stand eight days of that heat. Apex Air clearly cares nothing about their customers, only their money. They charge exorbitant rates when theyve got you over a barrel, and theyre hiring so-called technicians who dont know their craft.

    We were out in April for her annual maintenance. Technician notes stated the system was working when we left, but it was recommended to perform a contactor and capacitor replacement due to an electrocuted frog on your capacitor and inconsistent voltages on your contactor. These repairs were declined by the customer "until they actually have a problem". Our offer to come out the same day on the holiday was not sufficient for customer due to cost. We have initiated a refund for her last maintenance.
