July 11, 2024 I Arrived at a 1:30p appointment with **** for a full foil and cut, after a 15 min consult agreeing to blend my darker roots with my lighted ends, my hair was over processed with a 40+ minute full foil-never checking the state of the hair or color even once, returning to mix more dye 4 times, then followed by color applied directly to my scalp, deeply saturating it, and getting it on my forehead and in my ears, then that was then left on an additional 30 minutes which burned it and around my forehead. At the sink she tore out foils that broke my hair off. I was unable to shampoo my hair for 4 days, due to the pain. It still hurts in some parts of my scalp now. My hair has split ends now, and is frizzy despite the fact **** also cut anout 2. I was charged $330 for this, writing a $370 check plus tip. I tried calling the salon to discuss what happened and get a refund. ***** didnt call back. **** texted and said she would call and did not. I stopped payment on the check. **** texted and called 7/23/24 and demanded I pay her $330 and denied damaging my hair and refused to accept a lesser amount of $50. She said she is sending me to collections. I truly dont feel that this was done professionally or in good faith. Her attitude throughout disregarded the care and condition of my hair and my personal comfort and well being. She didnt event contact me back until she couldnt cash the check. What should a consumer be forced to pay for going to a professional hair salon who treats you and your hair like this? I dont deserve to go to collections, the service was not done as promised or agreed to.

      Business response

      09/11/2024

      Dear BBB.

My name is ******************* I am a hair stylist at ErikasHair Salon located in the city Woodinville,**********. This letter is in response to your letter date 8/27/2024.

On July 11th, 2024, *********************************, a customer, came in to extensive hair service, which included services. Her treatment was for 4.5 hours of my services, of which during the hair treatment I discussed each step and explained what was required to achieve the color she wanted. At the end of the services, ******************* said she was very happy with the end result, resulting in no issue or concerns on my end address. During that time, another stylist and her customer were present and heard *** ********* statements about being happy. I am more than happy to get a statement from the stylist that was present, if needed.

The total expense for her service was $330. ******************* paid $370 by personal check, which included a $40 tip. Upon depositing the check, my bank informed me that the Chechen was cancelled. *** ******** did not notify me of her canceling the check. I contacted *** ******** and she told me she was an happy. This was news to me as she had not communicated her disapproval for me to remedy her concerns issue. She refuses to pay for services rendered and I had notified her that if she refused, I would have to sent her to collections. Her response was that she would sue me if I sent to collections.

I believe that her submission to the Better Business Bureau is her form retaliation against me by submitting false statements as a result of my attempts to collect on services rendered to her. Since her submission, she is attempting to settle this dispute before me sending to her collections. Her proposal is $50, which is not an acceptable resolution. Her proposal does not event cover my expenses. I have counter-offered her proposal with $280, which I have communicated to her. This had been the last of our communication as of the date of this letter.

If you have additional questions or concerns regarding this matter, please feel free to reach out to me at **************.

          Regards,

          *******************
