On October 17th 2023 I went to baycare eye clinic in greenbay for a free consolation on an elective elective refractive lense exchange.********************** was the 3rd place that I went to for a consultation they sent me a letter 3 weeks before my appointment and said if I was coming there for cataract surgery If I would have to have contacts out 2 weeks prior to the appointment so I called them and asked them if I had to have my contacts out for that appointment the lady that answered said no I was just for a free consultation. I went and did the consultation and decided to go with another doctor. ********************** has billed me ****** they were the only provider that billed me for a free consultation.Business response

My son had surgery in the Fall of 2021 for a detatched retina. The surgery was not successful, as the retina again detatched shortly after. The surgeon at Aurora Baycare Eye Clinic, ***** St. Green Bay, WI said he would do a second surgery to put a temporary silicone in the eye to hold the retina in place for 6 months before removing the silicone. When my son got out of surgery, I learned that they had at the last moment decided not to do that and to instead just repeat the procedure that was done on the first surgery. As a consequence, the second surgery was also a failure as the retina become detatched shortly after surgery again. The surgeons then said that on a 3rd surgery they would put the silicone in his eye for six months and then remove it. We were told this was as much as they could do. Baycare surgeons stressed that there were no further options. My son had the 3rd surgery in Feb. 2022 and had the silicone removed in August 2022. Two days after removal of silicone he had no sight in his eye. The retina had detatched again. We were then told that they could do a 4th surgery to put a permanent silicone in the eye. We were never told there was an option for permanent silicone. We were told the 3rd surgery was the most they could do. This was a lie. I called another eye specialist to get another opinion. The new eye specialist requires a referral so I called BayCare Eye Clinic to get a referral. I was told that while I am welcome to get a second opinion, they will not refer me anywhere else. My son is 26 years old, is now completely blind in one eye and will lose his CDL and his ability to make a living. Aurora BayCare Eye clinic, Green Bay, WI does not care. They will not give a referral so that he can be seen by a different clinic. They have lied about what surgery would be performed and what our options were and now are refusing to help us go somewhere that *** be able to help my son.Business response
