This place is a scam. The receptionist, Pattie, is mean and disrespectful. She has zero empathy and patiences for clients. She over bills then claims the bills were never paid and sends them to collections. The debt collectors are not able to verify the missed charges and have to waive debt.Northeast Wisconsin Wellness Assoc, LLC Response

Hi- thank you for the review as we welcome any feed back on how we are doing. We are a for profit mental health clinic. Unfortunately some clients make things personal and go on the "attack" (*****) when things don't go their way. Clients are quoted what is expected for Ins and payments when they register with us. We have policies for No show's and canceling the same day of an appointment. If someone ignores our attempts when billing issues arise then the account goes to collection. Our standard is that as long as an account is in good standing (making monthly payments), then the client can make monthly payments until its paid off. If the account is not in good standing (due to lack of patients responsibility), then payment is due immediately and ultimately if not paid then sent to collections. Due to HIPPA we can't go into more detail specifically but we have been in business since 1993.
Thank you

My daughter is attending counseling here because my husband and I are going through a divorce. My husband took our daughter to her first I session. I was unable to attend because I had an appointment with my own counselor. I called and scheduled a time to speak with the counselor about how the session went and address some concerns. Unbeknownst to me, she told my husband I was calling and had him come to the office and listen to our conversation on speaker phone. He was belittling me in the background while she was accusing me of using her as a mediator. This all occured before I had a chance to finish my first sentence. She refused to address anything I had to say. I couldn't get a word in edgewise. She admitted that she forgot what was discussed in the first session, then became angry and defensive. This was clearly set up between the counselor and my husband to prevent me from having any involvement in my daughter's care. Not only was I hurt that my concerns for her well being were ignored, I was attcked when I attempted to adress them. I am in shock. My request to speak with the counselor could have easily been ignored if she didn't find it to be beneficial. Instead, she went out of her way in order to humiliate me, making sure I knew that my concern had no place in her office.Review from Samantha L

I had a foster daughter that I took to New Wellness Associates. Her counselor was outstanding but the front desk receptionist was awful. For starters, she is rude and heartless when therapy can already be emotional for those involved. After some time, my foster child went back to live with her biological mothers. I brought in the paperwork showing I was no longer the guardian but I guess she didn't do her job as they continued to bill me and sent me to collections! I have outstanding credit so I had to fight this. I tired contacting them to get it fixed but she hung up on me several times. Asked to speak to her manager and was never sent to anyone to discuss. So I was wrongfully billed, wrongfully sent to collections, and then they were UNWILLING to help in anyway to fix their error.Northeast Wisconsin Wellness Assoc, LLC Response

Hi- thank you for the concern and we appreciate all forms of feedback. We apologize for any inconvenience but unfortunately, when an account becomes delinquent because of no response, a business has no other choice then to send an account to collections to get it rectified.
Once its in collections you must deal with the collection agency going forward. I'm glad that you were able to come to a resolution once you responded.

ZERO STARS!! The receptionist in this place is horrendous! She told me that I had to contact my insurance company to see if there is a deductible or copay. If I didn't, I would have to pay full price. She is rude and abrasive. Today was the last straw. My son and I have covid and I was informed that I would be charged $50 if I cancel the appointment. When I told her I would just bring him in for his appointment (to show how absurd this rule is for people who are ACTUALLY sick), she told me I can't do that. When I asked to speak to the therapist, she wouldn't let me and told me that she had no say-so regarding the fee. After a few call-backs( to try to talk to the therapist) she started hanging up on me. I have had multiple issues with this woman over the duration of our appointments with this clinic. They should really get rid of her because she is not an asset.Northeast Wisconsin Wellness Assoc, LLC Response

Thank for the feed back. We take complaints very serious and apologize for any confusion on our part. It is the patient responsibility to figure out what their coverage is prior to being seen at our clinic. If you choose not to contact your insurance prior to being seen then you do pay the cost of the session up front. Our clinic does have a policy that a 24 hour notice is required when cancelling an appointment. If you contact the office the same day there is a fee that applies. During the current pandemic, we are offering sessions over the phone to avoid the the late cancellation fee but if you choose not to go with the alternative of the session over the phone, then that is your choice but the fee does apply. On 1/11/22 you contacted the office to have the session over the phone to avoid the late cancel fee which you are aware of. The spouse called back over 10+ times and would not give the proper information that is required and then harassed the office staff. Our policies are standard and understand that you *** dislike the policies but they are set and applies to all clients. It *** be best to transfer the records to another provider that *** fit your needs better. Once we receive a signed release we will be able to forward the records.Customer Response

If you took complaints seriously, you would fire the secretary at the front desk. Look at the ****** reviews. She is a common issue with your company. For many, many years. Maybe she has a special in with the owner.Any other medical office would rather cancellation if the patient is unable to attend. My son was SICK. Unable to talk on the phone sick. Have some compassion. I shouldve brought him in and let whatever fallout happen. But I am not an irresponsible person. My spouse gave the correct information the first call. The secretary would not let him through to talk to the therapist. Even the therapist said she wished the secretary wouldve let him through to talk to her. The secretary knew who was calling and what he was calling about. He did harass the secretary because she was not allowing him to talk to the therapist just to be a spiteful witch. The secretary is the reason clients will NEVER stay with your company. Good luck with that.
