12/4/21 I called *************************** @ Four Seasons Powersports about a 2007 ****** Rhino they had for sale. He told me the unit had gone through his rigorous inspection process and everything worked. On 12/6 I drove 6 hrs one way to buy. Upon arriving, ***** assured me everything had been inspected and works as it should. I am not a mechanic so I was relying on their process of inspection that the unit checked out. He charged me $6200 for the unit. When I got home, I could barely get the unit to start. Once I did, I drove it 2 miles and it began to smoke profusely. I called **** and he said bring it back and he will fix it. I would have had to drive 24 hours for drop off and pick up, as he was not willing to pick it up or even meet me part way. Also, I was starting to lose some trust in them so had a local mechanic look at it. The airbox was completely full of oil. Someone had used sealer on several places to keep it from leaking. The piston and the cylinder were shot. The entire top end needed rebuilt. The carburetor was literally melted. The fuel pump was not functioning. Zip ties were holding things in place. There were 20 amp fuses in every slot of the fuse box, causing it to overheat the wiring harness that runs the electronics. None of the indicator lights worked. The 4WD would not engage. My mechanic said all of these issues are immediately apparent to a mechanic. So, either they didn't inspect it or they did and doctored up what they could and ignored the rest. At this point I have over $3,500 in repairs and haven't even used it yet. I now have $11,600 in this unit that sold new $10,500 15 years ago. **** assured me on 3 different phone calls he will pay for the repairs. I sent pictures, estimates, documentation and receipts for everything. I sent him a formal **** on 2/15/22 and have not seen a dime. All my calls and emails go unanswered. I understand I bought this unit "as is", however, I was told the unit was inspected and everything worked. Please advise.
