On June 24, 2022, my husband, *******************, stopped to look at a vehicle for sale on the lot. He told the sales person he was thinking of purchasing a new car as the a/c had stopped working in this car. The sales person offered to have our car looked at in the service ***** An estimate, not to exceed a limit of $325, was agreed upon and my husband signed it. When he picked up the vehicle, he paid (by personal check) that amount, but he was not provided a statement detailing any parts used nor the amount of labor. Yet the charge was $325, the exact amount of the estimate. The a/c worked for one day. **** called and an appt was set up to look at it again. When we picked it up we were told the seals hadnt held and this time oil seals were used. The a/c worked for one day so another appt was made. When we picked up the vehicle, the **** manager said he wasnt sure what to charge us. I responded that the problem was never fixed. He proceeded to explain another diagnostic was run as the previous fix (replacing the seals) had held. There was coolant in the system. I then explained my issue was the initial cost was exactly the same as the estimate, but there was no itemization of parts and labor neither the first time it was there nor the second time. The manager told me (in general terms) that it was not necessary to supply this information to a customer. If this payment had been with a credit card I would have disputed these unfounded charges. However, it was paid by personal check. Once I told him I would report this to the BBB, he offered to produce an invoice. Within minutes, the owner brought our vehicle key to us and said we should just leave. So we did. Today in the mail I received an unsigned and undated letter with an itemized list of parts. The date on this created invoice was 8/4/2022, the original date of service was 6/24/2022.Business response

It is our determination that the complaint is without merit as the work performed was authorized, completed and paid as agreed.
