I am an over the road truck driver and was out of the state when I tried to cancel my membership. I was told my wife can come in to the gym on my behalf and sign the cancellation notice. She went to the gym back in September to sign the notice was told that I owe no money and everything was gonna be fine. It was all done on the computer so she wasn’t given a copy. The gym told me yesterday that they accepted the termination back in September but still need to pay $15 for September, so I payed the 15 dollars hoping this would finalize the termination of the contract . The lady at the front desk told me that management would get in contact with me through email with the final cancellation copy, but have heard no nothing back from management. I have received collection calls and also received an email yesterday from a collection agency saying that I owe them over $100 for extreme fitness monthly bills. I explained all this to the lady at the front desk yesterday and also to someone on the phone at the front desk yesterday evening. I feel extreme family fitness is railroading me with this cancellation of their membership so they can keep the contract open and keep billing me. I need help in resolving this issue.

I began a membership with extreme family fitness on May 13th 2022 under the impression they provided child care, as I had no way of going there unless this service was provided. Upon going a couple of times I was appalled at the conditions of the child care facility. When I picked up my children my at the time 4 year old picked up my one year old and carried him to me as the care givers sat scrolling their cell phones. Not asking me if they belonged to me as I took them from the room, only to hear the one sitting on the floor under the tablehave a nice day. Then the next time I dropped them off I found multiple sets of parents behind the safety fence, no questions asked people could come and go as they pleased. So I messaged them and told them I wanted to cancel because I could not in good conscience leave my children there. The manager Chris P********** wrote me an email response on 7/5/2022 stating he would cancel my membership and as of that date it would be canceled. My credit card they have on file was compromised during a Mastercard Scam around that time, the gym continued to charge the card and has now sent me to a collections agency for payment. I have contacted Mr P******* multiple times now with no response, I have now received a final notice from the agency that further action will be taken to get payment. I was told my membership had been cancelled and would like this harassment to end.

My sister and I have both had issues with this gym. We pay a monthly membership with one service fee a year but this year so far they have charged the both of us 2. Next my sister moved and has tried to cancel but they said there was nothing they could do and they have continued to over charge the agreed amount of $15 and now refuse to talk to her and hang up when she calls. Next during the whole process of signing up they never mentioned a late fee and charged me more than double my membership fee and when asked about it they said " I agree someone should have told you" and didn't offer a solution or do anything to resolve the problem.

iI cancelled GYM membership in September 2021. Was told everything was taken care of and my membership was cancelled. Continued to be charged in October 2021. Had my Bank block the charges going forward. Was subsequently charged in November, and was told I needed to also pay a late fee. Had the late fee waived, went in 12/1/2021 to pay 15 cash and have membership cancelled just to be done with it. Was told I also need to pay December to cancel I told them I would give them one dollar as a prorated fee for December filled out the paperwork to cancel. The Gym owner appeared and started yelling that I needed to pay for December then threw my cash behind the register so that I no longer had access to my cash. The Gym owner then followed me out side and tried to instigate a fight. I want to make sure my membership is cancelled and that I not be harassed by this business any further.

      Hello,

Attached is a copy of the member's contract. Here at Extreme, we have a policy that applies to all members when regarding cancellation.
There is a 30-day cancellation policy meaning any payment within the immediate 30 days will be due before the member may cancel. You can find this in the contract attached #5 toward the bottom.
*** *********** was extremely aggressive towards our receptionist as well as myself both over the phone and in person. He was told the standard of canceling his agreement and proceeded to make threats and leave. This was the first or 2 incidents that took place. Later that day around 4 pm *** ********** returns to the property with an entirely different demeanor wanting to pay his dues and finalize his cancellation. Before everything was final *** ********* grabbed the paperwork from my hands and stormed out across the parking lot. His December payment has been made 12/10/21, meaning he has been canceled effective that day. Unfortunately, he is no longer allowed on the property after making threats to the staff. But has been cancelled in full with nothing else owed.
Let me know if there is anything else I can do.
      Thank you.
