On May 13 of 2022, I took my new Ford Truck to Tony's Street Dreamz to have rock lights and a brake light put in. I paid well over $1000 just for tony to install my lights. I purchased my lights from ******. I left this business around 4pm with my lights working. I make it the three hour trip home, and they no longer work. The following week, I pulled back in his shop. He informed me it was a blown fuse and replaced the fuse and sent me on my way. Within the next three months, my fuses were blowing everytime I turned around. I use my truck to get back and forth to work, however, most important is the fact that my truck is required to haul my horses and trailer. On several different occasions, I was left sitting beside the road because I could smell something burning or a fuse would blow and something on my truck wouldn't work. I have asked Tony to at minimum, pay the cost of the lights, the cost to replace them and the cost to fix all of my burnt wiring. He has refused. I gave him the name of the Professional Aftermarket specialist that repaired my truck the first two times. He knows tony personally, yet, Tony refuses to even make an attempt to make this right. To date, I am still having trouble with my truck. I don't trust it now and that is why we work hard to make payments on our vehicles...to have trust that it will get us where we are going. This business has caused irreparable damage and has refused to take responsibility. $5400 is not even half what this has caused. It will cost me around $3000 for my attorney to take this on as well.Business response

Dear BBB,
On May 13th 2022 this customer came to Tony’s Street Dreamz to have her under vehicle lights
installed that she purchased elsewhere. On Jan. 22 2023 7:09 AM the customer sent over pictures (the same ones you received) of a
wiring harness and module to our Business ******** *********. She left a detailed message
about the situation. Below is our conversation on **. In blue, I wrote notes about the responses.
We also attached the photos of this ** messenger thread for proof. On Jan. 22 2023 7:09 AM Customer’s Message:
“As you know, I have been in your shop for several things. You tinted my windows and put my ranch hand
brush and bumper on. On this, not a complaint at all. However, I also had you put a light bar on the back
and rock lights. I paid over $1400 for this! I had to come back a week later because they did not work.
You told me it blew a fuse! The pictures above is the result of your establishment putting these lights in
according to **** and their electrical and light specialist. I have now spent nearly $2000 dollars to have
all of this damage repaired only to be told this past week that I am going to have to replace my entire
wiring harness since he also cut into that! Pictures and videos have also been sent. That will be another
$2000 plus labor. I told you when I came in your office that I specifically tow and haul non-stop! I am a
marketing director, and I have yet to detail this horrific installation job completed by your business
online. However, I am respectfully requesting that you not only cover the cost I was charged for all my
lights and the installation, but for the repair and wiring harness. This comes to $5,400, on a new truck!
They said they have no idea how my truck didn’t catch on fire and burn to the ground! I am requesting
that you pay for this within 10 days or I will be contacting my attorney, and they are ***** *** ******.
Today is January 22, 2023. If I am not reimbursed by February 2, 2023, I will be left with no option but to
file a suit to recover the damages to my truck as well as costs for rentals while my truck has been
consistently in the shop. I have cc’d my law firm on this as they are aware that I spent 7 hours on the
interstate last week awaiting another tow bill while attempting to haul hay only to be told about my
complete wiring harness. This payment must be in the form of a cashiers check and mailed directly to me
at **** ********** ****** ******* ** *******On Jan. 22 2023 11:12 AM – TSD’s Response:
“Hello and good Morning, Mrs/Miss Customer. I'm sorry for your experience. Do you have any type of
documentation from the dealership with explanations and pricing? If you do, please email me them to
me - ******************. Allow me to look through everything and I will address the situation
accordingly. Thanks” (**I changed their name to customer for their privacy**)
- If our team damaged a vehicle we would pay for the damages. It’s happened in the past
and we pay for the repair right away. We’ve been in business for over 25 years. Do think
we would still be in business if we were damaging vehicles and not paying for the repair?
We are also still in business because we don’t write checks just because someone sent a
message with photos demanding money. Like my response above, do you have any
documentation from the dealership?On Jan. 22 2023 11:13 AM – Customer’s Response:
“Yes, I will have my attorney forward it on for the issues. As for this last issue, I will also forward it on as
my truck is still in the shop waiting on parts.”On Jan. 22 2023 11:13 AM – TSD’s Response:
“Thanks”
**Never heard or received anything from the Attorney**On March 27th 2023 11: 20AM – Customer Sends Message to ** (64 Days Later):
“This is the last time I will reach out, as both **** and **(Person’s Name)**, who owns a custom after
market company in **(County Name)** took all the pictures of my burnt cables and bottom of my truck
and documented the issues. I can see in the text feed, my pictures are still available for you to view. Once
again, my truck is heading back to **** today because the fuse box is still having issues. If I do not
receive a check for the original damages to my truck of $5400.00 within the next 5 days, sent to my
address which is **(Address)**, I am signing the intent to file suit with my law firm **(Firms Name)**,
PLLC. At that time, they will add this next bill coming up as well as legal fees. I am also going to start a
marketing campaign regarding this situation which is not only my job, but my right as a consumer who
received damaging service from your business, not to mention the tow bills, being left on the highway for
hours at a time, the time I have had to spend in various after market specialty shops and ****. You may
also consult Pat ******* who is certified in after market installations and repairs. His number is ******** *****
**(I changed their names/address/firm name for their privacy)**
- So now her friend, that also owns an aftermarket shop, looked at the truck and decided
the lighting install caused issue. $5,400 with 5 days or filling suit. She is also going to
start a marketing campaign unless we pay her within the time period. Mind you, I have
yet to see a bill from **** with documentation on how our install with her aftermarket
lights caused this damage. Not even a message from the attorney because 64 days ago,
that’s how we left it. Send me proof and we will pay. She claimed I would her from her
attorney would send me everything (after our last conversation). Like is this for real?!?!?On March 27th 2023 11: 21AM TSD’s Response:
“I can’t tell if this is a scam or real. I asked for documentation 3 months ago and no response. Now you
are threatening me unless I send you $6,000 in 5 days? Thanks but no thanks!”
- Demanding money within a certain period of time and communicating over **. How
could you not have suspicions over this?On March 27th 2023 11: 49AM – Customer’s Response:
“Thank you for your answer. Since you have not treated this matter with the respect it warrants say it is
a scam, I will move forward with filing a lawsuit today! My truck is on its way back to **** due to your
faulty wiring job. Attached is my truck in front of your shop and where I paid the bill on my credit card. I
am angry and very disgusted with the havoc your business caused on my new truck! I will also make sure
that my attorneys have the bill from today for a new fuse box and wiring harness if that is what it is
going to take to remedy my truck as well as the bills from **(Person’s Name)** at **(Company
Name)**, tow bills, rental bills and **** bills.”
Right After the message:
An attached photo of her credit card statement. It’s showing the payment she made to the shop for
$1,066.36 on 05/13/22 to have the lights installed.
- **(I changed their names/company name for their privacy)**
- So still no documentation From the **** DEALERSHIP showing we created damage to
the vehicle by installing her aftermarket lights under the truck. Just hurtful AND
DEMANDING words but no documentation. That justifies $5,400 in 5 days.On March 27th 2023 11: 50AM TSD’s Response:
“I have answered every time. You sent me a message in January. I asked for documentation and haven’t
heard back in 3 months. Still no documentation and you are threatening my business and asking for
money. What am I supposed to think?”
- Answering honestly with everything that has been presented to me (zero facts- just
photos and her friend’s phone number that also installs aftermarket parts).On March 27th 2023 12: 44PM – Customer’s Response:
“I have gave you **(Person’s Name)** contact info! He knows who you are. He told us that. Call yourself.
I sent you the damage from him and **** three months ago. I will not resend. I’m also not threatening
your business. I’m going to be posting reviews as to the damage your establishment caused my 90,000
truck. That’s not a threat, that’s a fact. You even had to replace a fuse that had blown within a few
weeks of putting them in. Again, not threats, facts. The pictures show the damage from the rock lights
your establishment installed. Again, not a threat, facts. Your establishment **** to my wiring and did so in
a faulty measure that caused a complete meltdown of my harness. Again, facts, not threats. I have you
the opportunity to make this right three months ago, you said you were waiting for documentation. I
sent them. If it mattered to you, you would have called within a week and said, “I have not received
anything”, but you didn’t because it is not your truck.”
- **(I changed their name for their privacy)**
- You first told me your lawyer was going to send me the documentation from the
dealership on how our install to your aftermarket lighting kit under the truck caused
damage. I didn’t receive it, 3 months later you reach back out and it’s my fault I didn’t
reach out to your friend that also does aftermarket installs to ask why he thinks our install
caused damage? My question is why didn’t your friend that also does aftermarket installs
take care of the original install? He’s obviously an expert with the system? So sketchy.
Oh and still have not received anything from the dealership and lawyer – LIKE YOU
SAID I WOULD.On March 27th 2023 1:14 PM TSD’s Response:
“So if I pay you $5,400 you won’t start your “marketing campaign”?”
- I’m trying to uncover more for proof.On March 27th 2023 1:15PM – Customer’s Response:
“I just want to fix my truck to where I’m not alone at 2am in the morning with a 44 foot trailer because
my fuses and wiring are so messed up. I’m not trying to “squeeze” you or threaten you. But I told you I
drive the east coast for a living. This has costs me thousands more than the $5400. I’m trying to be fair
and reasonable.”
- Ok, send me the documentation from the **** dealership stating that my install to your
aftermarket lights that are under your vehicle and has caused $X amount of damage and I
will send you a check for that amount. Is that not fair and reasonable to ask?!?! Nope,
send a check for $5,400. I can’t even believe I even have to spend the time typing this
out. Unreal.
Customer Continued:On March 27th 2023 1:15PM – Customer’s Response:
“My insurance will no longer cover my tow bills, and it doesn't cover the damage to my wiring harness
because it was after market. Every single bit of this has come out of my own pocket. As you know, I work
for the (A Family in town) in Morgantown all the way to Spanish Lakes in Port St Lucie Florida. I cannot
afford to continue to have these types of issues with my truck.”
- *** I changed the last name mentioned for privacy- (A Family in town)**
- Great, send me the documentation from the **** dealership stating that my install to your
aftermarket lights that are under your vehicle and has caused $X amount of damage and I
will send you a check for that amount.
Customer Continued:On March 27th 2023 1:15PM – Customer’s Response:
“I will sign a non-disclosure agreement if I can just get the money to replace the damage to my truck. I
can even have a member of our (A Company in town) management team drop off a signed and notarized
non-disclosure agreement tomorrow and pick up a cashiers check. I just have to have my truck running
like it should. I said from the beginning I did not want to cause trouble, but this has costs me nearly
$10,000 thus far and I don't even have todays bill.”
- *** I changed the company name mentioned for privacy- (A Company in town)**
- Sign the NDA, give her a check, and we are done. She even loses money because she has
over $10,000 in this problem that we caused but we only owe $5,400.Final Notes:
From the photos, the harness looks to be melted. If you look closely, that harness is part of the
aftermarket lighting kit. All of the yellow tags are cables that come with the aftermarket lighting
and not factory wiring.
- The aftermarket lighting kit goes under the vehicle and shines light into the inner fender
Cables have to route through the undercarriage of the vehicle to the front hood. At the
front hood, there is a module that have inputs for the lights. You provide power and
ground to the module and you done. The cables from the photo (that are burnt) are the
light harness that feed back to the inner fender (where the aftermarket light is located). If
that LED light was to “Ground Out”, it would only back feed into the lighting module’s
output. That output on the module will no longer work and you will need to replace the
entire module or move it to a different output. The main power to the aftermarket lighting
module- IF that was “Grounding out”, it would trip the fuse it was connected to in the
vehicle. She has added aftermarket components to this truck (other than the inner fender lights). With the
amount of hauling and traveling there are multiple things that could have caused issues. Blaming
TSD with photos from your friends shop without documentation from the manufacture is not the
correct approach.
1- Install was done in May of 2022 and she reached out January 22, 2023 demanding
money.
2- She brought in the lights and we installed them.
3- Lights are aftermarket and go under the vehicle which receives abuse because it’s under
the vehicle.
4- TSD ask for documentation (MULTIPLE TIMES) from the dealership stating our install
to her aftermarket lights caused $X amount of damage because of: ……. – Still have not
received and beats around the bush.
5- She has continued to post on ****** and Social Media with the same statement and
photos without any proof !
6- I spent 3 hours typing this out and she continues to spread false statements. Being in
business this long, you think you have seen it all until something like this happens. It
honestly takes the drive out of you to continue owning a small business if you know
people will get away with things like this.I would be more than happy to answer any more questions. Feel free to call or email.
