One of the Burgess's pulled the same scam on me and my elderly mother today about having leftover asphalt from a job just a couple of miles away and needing somewhere to dump it. When I asked "how much" he said, "1200". Me and my mother naively thought that's how much Mr. B****** intended to charge us for the little bit of leftover asphalt. Later as my mother was talking to Mr. B******, he said "Oh, less than a thousand" and again we assumed he was speaking of price! We couldn't believe it when, once finished, he asked for $6480.00. First time either of us heard a number that large! No company name on the truck, out-of-state license number, no business card, in fact, no paperwork at all. Our local Sheriff's Deputy tried to help us locate the business address via the West Virginia truck license number but to no avail. The Deputy told me that this scam happens frequently. Boy, did we get scammed. Beware the Burgesses.

Zachary H***** *ust pulled the same scam on my elderly parents, and strong-armed them in to paying him almost $5000 that they didn’t have or agree to. Going by the name ***** * *** paving & sealing’ he pulled the same just have a little left on the truck bit, and then upcharged for the job. Phone numbers are ***** ***** **** ***** **** and ***** *** **** **** ****. Watch out, these people are the lowest form of scum on the planet!!! No stars from me.

These guys are slammers you had better run them off if or when you see them they’re crookes they better hope they never run me I’m going after them until see them in jail

If I could give them 0 stars I would. These people came to my mothers house and offered to put asphalt in the driveway before they even told her how much they was already half done with the job and never gave a receipt a written agreement NOTHING the only reason I was able to find the business name is because one of the workers was interested in buying my husbands truck because the name he gave my husband was fake and they didn’t even give my mom a name. They charged us 2600 cash but that’s not the original price they was asking they wanted 4800 until she mentioned calling the better business bureau! I told her she shouldn’t have paid them a dime BEWARE OF THIS SO CALLED COMPANY

I was solicited by Mr. Burgess on 04/11/2022 with an offer to re-cap my driveway with a six year warranty. I agreed to allow Mr. Burgess D/B/A Burgess Paving and Sealing to re-cap my driveway on 04/11/2022 for $1,900.00. The service was described as having a one inch thick layer and the sides of the driveway would expand by three inches. The service that was provided was spray seal and a majority of the cracks were not repaired. Within 30 minutes, I was notified the job was complete. At this point, I felt as though I had no choice other than to pay for the services completed. Within five minutes, I contacted the local police who recommended a stop payment on the check. Only a receipt was provided with no invoice or evidence of a 6 year warranty. Upon contacting the police and my financial institution, my mother contacted Mr. Burgess using the business card provided. His account of the agreement was drastically different than what was discussed. Within minutes, I went to my bank to complete the stop check payment documents and unfortunately it was too late and Mr. Burgess cashed the check. The tactics Mr. Burgess used were that pricing was going up next month, the service offered was good for today only, required the check to be made out to him individually and not his company, and misrepresented the service that was offered.
