We hired A2B Moving LLC to empty my MIL’s house after she passed and the estate sale was done and donatables were picked up. Unfortunately, one of his guys accidentally hit and busted a pipe in the basement that required the water to be turned off. They hired a handyman to fix the pipe but told us to wait 24 hours before turning the water back on…. I was reluctant to pay them until the water was turned back on and we knew there were no other issues! Fast forward 24 hours and we have a leak in the basement!!! I called Raquan and after more then an hour later I ended up calling him back and after explaining the issue, his first words to me were, “first, you need to relax”. After some back and forth, he called and told me that he needed the whole truth (I live in another state and he had talked to our contact) and he told me that it was absolutely impossible for things to have happened the way they told him. When I asked if he was telling me they were lying, he went so far to imply that I should pay attention because if they are the only person with a key, that “these kinds of things” will keep happening!! (This is the first and only issue we’ve had in 5 months) He proceeded to explain how he was willing to “help us out” while refusing to acknowledge that they had any responsibility to fix the issue. When I told him that this was exactly why I was reluctant to pay him until after the water was turned back on, he said that if I hadn’t paid him that day, that he and his guys would have come back and dumped everything on the front lawn of the house. Finally, he assured me that he would get a licensed plumber out to assess the issue first thing the next morning. - - - - - Update: We never heard from him! He didn’t call a plumber like he said he would and in fact, did nothing! We had to pay to have someone come and fix it. It actually was their fault but in fairness, they would’ve had no way to have anticipated the issue it caused.

Hi, I would like to apologize for the unfortunate situation you experienced. We are happy the job got done fine but understand that everything was not perfect. During the removal of the items located in the basement, one of the movers accidentally busted one of your pipes. Following procedure, we had to shut the water off in order to stop the leak and repair the damage we caused. I immediately went to ******, bought the supplies and had an in house handyman repair the busted pipe. As it states in our contract, we do take accountability for our actions but we usually do not honor any damage claims until payment is received in full for the completed work. We understand procedure isn't always pleasant or fast but as a company we want to do right by every client and also protect what we have built. Even though we acted fast to repair the pipe without payment, plumbing is not our area of expertise and proceeded with caution after finding out there was no inspection and the house was being sold "As Is." Upon completion of the repair, we recommended not to turn the water on for atleast 24hrs and to re-mount the pipes because they were previously not mounted correctly. Everyone left the site that day with a dry floor and the water shut off. When we received a call being advised that when someone finally went back to the property 24hrs later that the water was back on without anyone touching it and now there was a leak at the main valve a couple feet from where the accident caused by A2B Moving happened the day before, we expressed our concerns as far as liability and wanted to have the issue properly addressed by a licensed plumber to determine who is at fault for this new issue being that it is an older house and the plumbing system has now been touch by several people since A2B Moving last touched anything. After the day of the project, both my crew and myself were no longer in the area. Yes, I went on a planned vacation and my crew had to work. When we last spoke, I said I would call around even though I was on vacation, I made those calls and got some professional advice but could not schedule a service in your name from Florida. Though I still needed some convincing we were at fault for this new issue, I expressed that if it can be determined we caused this issue just by turning the water off, I would compensate and resolve any issue we created. When I didn't hear from you, I assumed you got everything figured out and did not seek compensaton from A2B Moving so I enjoyed my vacation but did not reject or ignore any form of communication. We are very sorry whether we really are at fault or if our work site accident just brought the problem to the light and wish that we didn't cause you any trouble. I messaged you and requested what the cause of the water coming back on and now having a leak was but did not receive an answer. A2B Moving is still willing to compensate for any problems or damage caused by us. Again, sorry for the inconvience and we respect your feedback!
