Last month, I visited this dealership to lease a 2024 Mitsubishi Mirage. At that time, a contract was presented to me, and I was charged $2,000 as a down payment. I signed all the documents. However, days later, I discovered that the interest rate given to me was 12%, which I considered extremely high. I requested to ****** the contract and asked for a refund of my $2,000. To my surprise, the dealership informed me that the amount was a deposit and non-refundable, even though I was initially told it would be treated as a down payment.Recently, I visited them to resolve the issue, but they told me that in order to get my money back, I had to delete all the reviews I had written and post a 5-star review for them! Otherwise, they said they would not refund my money. This is a clear example of coercion to do something I do not want to do.Unfortunately, I have completely lost my trust in this dealership and would advise others not to go there. This dealership does not deal with customers honestly. I have filed complaints with the *** and BBB and am waiting to receive my rights.TriCity Mitsubishi Response

Good afternoon, ********** discussed, you purchased a brand new vehicle from Tricity Mitsubishi after sitting with our sales and finance team members reviewing and signing all of the required documents together. You agreed to pay a $2,000 non-refundable downpayment, clearly indicated as a non-refundable downpayment, on a separateform titled "non-refundable deposit/partial payment/down payment", which was reviewed with you, and you signed.Your purchase documents included multiple statements of the interest rate, which you read, agreed to, initialed, and signed. You purchased a brand new vehicle, which was registered with Mitsubishi Canada and transferred into your name. You met with an insurance agent, completed the transfer form, and transferred the title into your ******** seem to think that you can change your mind and that our dealership must cancel your purchase. As we have explained, this is not the case. You signed a contract and are obligated to buy ****** posted multiple 1-star ****** reviews with similar statements to the one here, indicating that our dealership has behaved improperly, which we have not. We have done nothing wrong, and we are not obligated to cancel your contract because you simply changed your mind. All of this said, we are in the business of selling new and quality pre-owned vehicles to happy, satisfied customers. We thought we could explain the laws in ** to you regarding a vehicle purchase so that you would be aware that we are not obligated to cancel your purchase, so that we could discuss a compromise on your transaction. We offered you the ability to cancel your contract, to get your $2,000 back, to cancel your transaction with ICBC, and to unwind your transaction with Mitsubishi Canada, with no negative repercussions at all to you at all.For all of this, we asked you to remove your negative reviews and replace them with a positive one. The positive one resulting from your new understanding that Tricity Mitusbishiis a great company to do business with and let you out of alegallybinding contract.Review from Oluwadamilare O

I bought a 2015 ******** from Tricity auto. Firstly, I wanted an SuV but, the dealer connived me to get the ******** with an airbag problem and water sipping out from the passenger floor and backseat floor. I reported the airbag issue to the dealer, he instead sent me a ******* video to fix it. The car also started stopping randomly when I drive, it was a major safety issue but, the dealer at Tricity autos did not seem to care about my safety. They wouldnt even change the car for me also. Now, I cant sell or refinance the car and the finance company doesnt care about those issues either. I need help with this issue and hope I can get a resolution. They literally sold me lemons for a car. *******!Review from Kim B

THE WORST SERVICE TriCity Mitsubishi Dec 22 2022, we got approved to finance this car . Jan 14th 2023, the transmission started to slip while we were driving. We checked, it was completely empty (BONE DRY) and we went to the ******** **** to ask for fluid to put on. The mechanic guy asked us how long have you purchase that car? We said just 3 weeks ago. They said that we should take it back to the dealership that we bought it from to get it fix because this is their issue. Jan 15th 2023, we went there and explained to them and asked to get it towed Jan 17th 2023, we had to tow it ourselves to the dealership and we were told by the service team the latest they will contact will be Thursday After waiting, there is no contact yet. Jan 20th 2023, we had to take a half day off at work and went there to ask and we were told that we should be getting a call by 4pm . Waiting till 4pm, no calls. After getting a call much later, I was told that the transmission is completely broken and needs to be switched with a brand new one which costs $4000 ( they offer to pay half-half) Do you think that even makes sense? I was told that it’s because we drive a lot so the transmission is our fault? When on the paperwork at Mitsubishi Metro location, this car was checked and the transmission was all good, this inspection was may 22nd 2022. But it broke after 3 weeks, well I guess then your car manufacturer is ***** *** bad ??. They didn’t provide us any other solutions, only asking us to pay to fix the car ; also The General Sales Manager was blaming us because we didn’t buy the warranty. ** *** ********** **** ** *** ** ***** *** **** ** ****** If that is our problem, we would be more than willing to pay. Additional: was told that if we agree to pay, it’s gonna take 2 weeks to fix the car when they won’t even provide any loaner car in the mean time (AND THEY HAVEN’T SINCE WE BROUGHT THE CAR IN!) Customer Be Aware. **** **** ***** ***** *** don’t resolve their mechanic problem. :)Review from Erin M

I've never had such a disappointing experience buying a vehicle. I purchased a vehicle with a cash back option. Paperwork was messed up by finance office so they wanted me to EAT 2000 dollars worth of the cash back portion I signed for. *** * ****** ****** ****** ** **** ****** *** ***** ********** ******* *** ********* They completely ********* me for the cash back option. Finally I was able to get them to take a commission cut and I had to still suck up about 200 dollars. The only reason I signed this deal was for the cash back (of course I liked the vehicle and warranty). After that, I was promised my money on a certain day. I hear nothing back so I called the accounting office and they said no one is here to sign cheques. I asked when they expect to have that person in. Literally the person in accounting says "* *****". Really disappointing and I feel completely taken advantage of just so they could get a sale.
