I purchased insurance from a local agent thinking if I had a problem I would deal with a local agent. Not so much. In 2019 I had a problem with my house. Called my insurance agent and was told to call the 800 number. I had the absolute worst experience. During a wind storm I had some brick blow off my house which compromised a second wall on the exterior of my house. They sent their own engineers who determined the problem was wind damage. They refused to show me the engineers report stating I was not the client who arranged for the engineer so I had no right to view the report unless I paid them directly for a second report on the house that I owned... They sent a company to secure the brick walls, but in doing so put holes straight through the walls from the outside. ********** paid me for the new damage and I had to find a competent contractor myself. Finally I had to produce an appraisal from 2018 to show the brick damage wasnt existing for them to pay to have it fixed even though their own engineers had already reported the damage was caused by wind. They refused to send me the money and would only pay it to my mortgage company... After all was said and done, after about a year, I got the house fixed and the contractors paid. I sold the house and bought a much smaller house but was told by *************************************** office the premiums wouldn't change. 11 months later I found a much cheaper insurance online and they are charging me an early termination fee equal to or more than my monthly payments... Avoid this guys insurance like the plague if you don't want to get ripped off.
