I received an insurance payout cheque to payout my car loan with TD Auto Finance, and the extra amount was supposed to be paid back to me. I was told I could request to have it expedited because I need that money for a downpayment on a new vehicle. I brought the cheque in on a Friday and the account was closed and I called in later that day to request the expedited payout. Calling back on the Monday it still wasn't processed. Calling back on the Tuesday I was told they would have to call insurance to verify the cheque. It's from *** Insurance. The cheque is directly from them so I'm pretty certain it's valid and will clear. In October 2017 I went to ******** dealership in ******** , AB . I looked at a **** , they did an application to see what my payments where , I declined that **** and purchased another vechile at ***. I never signed any documentation , nor did I purchase a vehicle. I have contacted TD Auto and they cannot find me in there system , finally a lady told me oh the deakership must have jumped the gun and we processed the loan prematurely, so went it didn’t go through it will go on your credit scores. I asked several times for documentation, payments, my signature and proof of my banking info they stated we never received your banking info or a signature it’s just we pre processed a loan per dealership request. How can this be , they dint have my signature nor any payment info to process a loan. They put this on my credit ********** and ******* as a bad loan , bad debt . I want this removed from both credit , and an apology for years trying to clear my name .Business response

On April 5th of this year I went into TD Bank and paid my car lone off with a cashier check for $14601.58. That is what they said that was left owning. I have a document say my fiel is closed. Then they sent me a letter saying I still owed them$350.72. So I went into the bank and asked why. They said I still owed them a payment. I told them I was not going to pay anymore money to them. They have tried to take money out of my account at the *** Bank so we reversed the payment. Now they keep phoning me and harassing me fo the money. Today they have called me 5 times already. I called them and told them to stop calling me that I wasn't going to pay them. Then the last time they called I said what do you want and told them again to stop calling me. My contract # is *************** can you please help me??Business response

I'm not sure if they call me that it won't be the same answer. All they think is that I owe them money and argue with me about getting it. They just want it there way because we have talked many times and that is there resolution.

My credit is being affected while they take their ****** time in deciding what to do with my situation. I have an inoperable vehicle as it was stolen and damaged with no insurance on it. I cannot pay any payments at this time. I had an offer for 15,00 and the loan is 43,000. I was willing to make smaller payments and have the interest stopped. My vehicle was wrote off after beeing rear ended on november 9th 2022 i went into a td bank deposited the insurace pay out check to td auto finance as they where the main payee on the insurance check the total ammount sent to td auto was $11,433.59 the total remaining owing amount on my car loan was $5,609.01 whitch went directly to td auto on the 9th of november 2022 along with the remaining ammount of $5,824.58 whitch is owed to me on november 21 2022 td auto sent out a check for the amount of $5,824.58 threw ***** **** ****** **** i still have not recived this check on november 28th 2022 i called td auto for the 3rd or forth time since the 21st to ask where my check was at that tome i was finally given a ****** **** tracking number when i got off the phone woth td auto i went and checked the tracking number on ****** **** websit shotch states the check was deliver on november 22 2022 so i immediately called td auto back to inform them that the check had been delivered but not to me was told and investigation would be started once i got off the phone woth them went to my local ****** **** office to have the check to see if for some reason the check may be there it wasnt they gave me a 1 800 number to call called the number at that time they had informed me that the check was delivered but not to my current address whitch i gave the after a few mins of talking to them was able to confirm the check was sent to an old address i havent lived at since december of 2021 called td auto today november 29 2022 to see if they had recived the returned check yet and to find out how this mistake was made after plenty of arguing on the phone spoke woth a td auto supervisor who informed me the mistake was made because they never changed my spouses address and chose to send it to her address on file despite me giving them the correct address the buissness day before they issued the missing check now im beeing told they can not put a stop payment on the current missing check and that it could take anywhwre from a few days to a few months for me to recive a new check for the owing ammount of $5,824.58 that has now been owed to me by td auto finance for 20 days my family now has to suffer and make sacrafices because we do not have the second cehicle we need for me to travle to and from work my children are missing out on interactive programs that help socialise them and doctors appointments ** * **** *** ****** ******* ** ****** * **** **** ** * ********* **** **** *** *** **** ** **** * *** ******** ** *** *** *** **** ** **** *** ***** *** ***** *** ********* i am hoping the bbb can help asist me in getting this issue resolved sooner then later so we can go and purchase a new vehicle for me to get to and from work each dayBusiness response

I've had around 7 vehicles in past 8-9 years with TD Auto finance. I've never missed a payment. I started out wrong with my last Loan I currently have with TD. A car was wrote off and they were supposed to stop my automatic withdrawals and didn't. **** ***** **** *** ******** **** * *** ******* *** ****** I deferred 11 payments in past four years and TD sent me to collections as missed payments, instead of them being deferred? I spoke with a manager on March 1, 2022. He assured me he found all notes to make a correction notice to remove missed payments as they're deferred? That didn't happen as promised along with 3-4 other people saying the same. Then finally at beginning of March having someone tell me as we speak a correction notice is being sent to ******* ********** and to myself to fix this. It then wasn't and apparently the Senior Complaints department to fix. They were supposed to be done by June 30th? They aren't and nothing is bein done? All calls are and were recorded and them not doing what they've said is *****? NOT A CHANCE DO I ACCEPT IT? I TOLD ALL THEM THAT BECAUSE I HAD 7-8 VEHICLES IN TEN YEARS WITH NO MISSED PAYMENTS CAN THEY TAKE ME OFF AUTOMATIC WITHDRAWL AS NEGATIVE HAPPENED PLUS COVID ETC? THEY SAID THEY WOULD IF I PAID IN REASONABLE TIMES? I DID SO, THEY SENT BACK THINGS STATING APRIL 23 PAYMENT MADE MAY 3 ETC? THAT'S WHAT I WAS TOLD WAS OK???Initial Complaint

I recently traded in my TD financed vehicle for a new vehicle financed through **********. When it was traded in, the dealership paid the remaining balance on my TD Auto Finance loan. They continued to take my regular bi-weekly payments out even though I was told it was paid. I called in and was told I still owed $8.00 and that they would close my account after paying that amount, so I agreed. They took the $8.00 from my account a few days later. Still, they decided to attempt to take my regular bi-weekly amount even though I was told the account would be closed. Luckily I had put a stop payment on my account, and the money was returned to me. After calling again, I was told that the issue would be resolved and that they turned off the pre-authorized payments. That was clearly a ***, because they again attempted to take money out. I also just noticed that my credit score took a dive because they reported my payment missing/late. This is not right, I was told the account would be closed, I can't afford two car payments! Close my account and remove the derogatory credit remark! I've never once missed a payment with TD, this is ridiculous.Business response

Customer support has been no help thus far. Constantly being told something only to find out it was wrong. Like I was told after paying the remain $8 my account would be closed...
