I am looking at all the 5 stars Restorex received, and i wonder if i am just one of the few unlucky ones. The initial response was quick and with only a few small issues. The problem started when the quote for repair was submitted to the insurance. I asked to see the quote before they submit, but i was ignored like a stop sign. The quote went in and a lot of time was wasted with me having to negotiate with the insurance the adjustments on the quote. During the initial conversation around when the repair will start, i was made very clear of the point that i cannot be trusted with handing them the insurance check after the repair. That stung a bit, but hey, new era right. I was also let know in no few words that if i do not do as they say regarding moving into a hotel for the repair period, i can find another contractor. Then the repair started and i was initially very impressed with the setup, time to repair and how they treated my house. The problem came when the inspection was done. Damage that was created during the cleanup, and me being told it will be repaired, was done very poorly. A broken piece of wood is not repaired when you glue it in place. I do believe it was done that way as it is out of sight......What the eye do not see wont hurt the heart right. I reported the bad fix and expected Restorex to do the right thing, however, i was overruled, by a consensus between three of their employees, on their side. A few other items identified during the inspection to be fixed to an acceptable standard was also done half hearted. I wrote a little piece on the sign off document and handed them their check. It seems i am the one that can be trusted, and they are the ones with a dodgy integrity. I am having someone come in and repair the items and i will pay for the fixes, out of my pocket, as my integrity wont allow me to sell this place to someone when i know repairs were done sub par. Will i recommend this company to anyone, ................ Only time will tell.
