I contacted 2 roofing companies on July 17, 2024. One was "All About Roofing" and ***** came to my home to see what I wanted done. He gave me a quote and asked me if I would give him the job. I had not yet received a quote from the other company. I liked ***** and I could tell that he knew what and how to do the roofing so I gave him the job. I had a little doubt about the other company but their quote came in that evening and it was $1,250 less then ******* but I had already agreed to give him the job and I don't back out of agreements. ***** and his helpers began the work a few days later. He pulled a very heavy trailer across my yard to get close to the job. I had instrucked him not to do that because his truck and trailer would leave deep tire rutts. My ground is soft and usually wet. He did that anyway. On the third day after completion of the work, he tried to pull the trailer out but got bogged down and couldn't even get his truck out. He got another person to pull out his truck but not the trailer. The trailer sat on my property for several days. On August 3, 2024 two people came to get their trailer and I had already had a friend pull it off my yard and park it at the exit gate. It was very easy for them to hook up and pull the trailer out on the road but they did not know how and would not listen to me. I'm 86 years old and owned a large ranch in ***** years ago. I got frustrated with them and tried to tell them how to get it out but they told me they had "8 YEARS EXPERIENCE" and would not listen to me. I finally got my friend, again, to pull it out on the road. They gave me $300 that I agreed to for damages and unfortunately I accepted just to get them off my property. I am now working with another friend to fill the 6" deep rutts they left all over my property using my dirt, equipment, fuel, time and labor. If I paid someone to do all the work and provide everything, it would cost around $600 to $700 dollars. Do you think I got a good deal?
