Talked to the owner and was told the fence installation would be up to city code. Agreed to pay the cost as I felt the work would be up to city code standards. When the city inspector came out to complete the inspection he pointed some items that were not properly completed and the inspection failed. I called the company back and had them come back to complete the installation. They charged me an additional fee for their mistake. Thats not professional and I am not happy about how they do business. I feel that they should understand city code before they tell their customers the work is up to code. Its not my fault and I feel that I should not have to pay more for their mistake.

      Arizona Pool Fence Response

*****- Your review has some important details left out so please allow me to respond to the items you left out. You only wanted your iron fence installed on your side yard which we did and that DOES pass code for ***********. You did not want a fence around your patio, so your other option was to make your slider door self-closing/latching. Because youre in **, the requirement for code is to permanently secure the multi panel which we did. Matter-of-a-fact we have done hundreds of those types of doors passing inspection every single time. On March 24th we did your doors and had you called for inspection then, you would have been just fine (after you also did the side iron fence). However, you waited until June to call for an inspection. I explained to you that since then, the city inspector *********************** realized that all the ** inspectors were passing one permanent pin on the door and he wanted two, one at the top and one at the bottom. It was only two weeks ago that ******************** personally called our office to explain why the change because we challenged him stating that we have always passed inspection with one. He said he recently learned that his team was only requiring one and he sent a memo to all inspectors stating effective immediately, ** will now require two. I can understand your anger about not passing, what I don't understand is your insults and anger towards us. We did nothing wrong, rules changed which was out of our control. Youre trying to make us look bad but in reality, youre the one who's wrong in this situation. We charged you $25 which doesn't even pay for gas driving all the way to ** to add the additional permanent s**** as a courtesy. We should have charged you a full-service call of $110. If you would have taken a second before you reviewed out of anger, you would have realized that this was a perfect case of timing. When we did the job, it would have passed. You waited 3 months later when the rules changed. People reading this will understand that your review is not a reflection of our company, it only shows a hot head who didn't take one second to listen to our explanation since you were too busy yelling at my installer and staff.
