I rented a Storage from US Storage center on Belair Road I have been renting this storage for almost FOUR YEARS. I was on Auto Pay for my unit and paid ****** monthly. Last payment was April 3rd 2022. My may payment did not come out. I found out on May 9th my storage was Auctioned off on April 26. I have receipt of my payment which is good until April 30th. The manager ****** admitted fault and gave me forms to fill out for an insurance claim. I was told it was a computer glitch , which I know because my payment and paperwork is up to date. I fill out the claim I lost thousands of dollars in tools, priceless pictures a lamp clothes that belong to myself my son and my sister. I have to start from scratch with all my power tools and other tools. Us Storage is giving me the run around. The company says they will mail me a check and they never did, I call the corporate office and they told me that I am automatically insured and they should have taken care of it, so here we are I am getting the run around and looking for some resolution. I am hoping that with your assistance you all can find out why I was treated so horribly and given the run around. You are my first top and hopefully my last with your help.Initial Complaint

I rented a storage space in October due to an unexpected move. I had insurance and submitted the requested information during the rental process. I have connntinued to be charged extra for insurance each month. I have called visited in person asked for the coprporate office number to file a complaint and been told to just email at the address included in emails ( recieved no response), I have been promised follow up calls and have received none. I was asked by one representative why do I continue to pay the extra cost if I have provided insurance. I explained I have no choice as no one will return calls and if I di not pay my items in storage will be confiscated. In **** I was told the extra fee for insurance was not added. I asked for a credit for the months of October-May to be deducted from my **** payment. This would have made my payment due for **** at around $50.00. I was told by a customer respresentative that the ********************** manager would contact me they did not, I was told to email at the dallaas email I did and received no response. I received an invoice for $156.00! and not only did not receive my credit but had an increase in rental fees. It was the 5th of the month and again I had to pay the fees or loose my belongings. I have no idea what to do moving forward as I cannot get a repsonse after months of reaching out to the company.Initial Complaint

Called the storage weeks prior to give notice of moving. Store clerk advised I just had to be out by 6pm on the 5th and would not be charged. Upon moving out I advised the clerk that I was charged. She advised that she would send to a to process refund and it would be **** days. She provided no move out paperwork said I didnt need any. Im sure this is because she did not know what she was doing a she struggled to even check me out of the system. I have called the company about 5 times. Every time they advise a sup will call and they never do.Initial Complaint

I started renting a storage unit around January of 2018 at the ************************************************************************************************************************************ location. on 12/5/2020 upon arrival to my unit (****) there was a significant amount of water coming into my unit from levels above, which was a broken drain pipe the facility already knew about but failed to contact tenants effected. Luckily none of my contents were damage because it was caught on time. I went to the office to make them aware and they scrambled to move me to a dry unit (****). This is where the problem began. the employees of the facility failed to record in their system of me being relocated to a new unit and lost track of where I was. Well over a year later 1/20/22 upon arrival to my unit (****) I discover a lock that wasn't mine on the unit. it was a facility owned lock. I went to the office to question and after some debate the manager hands me the keys and tells me to go open it. When I opened it I immediately discovered most of my contents where gone. I returned to the office where the manager couldn't give me an answer of where my contents were, I still haven't gotten a reasonable answer to where my things are except " WE ARE PRETTY SURE YOUR THINGS WERE THROWN OUT BECAUSE WE DIDNT KNOW WHO OWNED THE ******* I have never missed a payment and have bank statements and receipts to prove. I shared the locker with my mother and we are heart broken to say the least of the many sentimental items which can never be replaced that we lost. My Name is ***************************. I've been trying to get my refund since Sept 2021 after being charged a monthly fee after I moved out of ** Storage and proper notice was given. I emailed and called the office in ********, ** - New Salem several Times trying to get my refund or status. First I was sold I did not file docs timely, I then provided proof all info was sent in correctly and Timely. The manager keeps telling me accounting is reviewing the matter, but I am not getting any where with this matter. I paid in good faith and should get refunded is owed to me as a consumer. This is not a way to treat a customer who paid in good faith.
