My name is **** *****, and I was the proud owner of a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid. My truck was used as my primary transportation to work and for recreational use. My truck was needed a smog check this year, so I paid the registration fees and went to find a smog check station. To my surprise, the truck failed smog due to a "sensor" module with the Hybrid system. It was recommended I take it to a certified Chevrolet dealer to have the sensor replaced. Attached is my nightmare situation with AV Chevy from November 2020 - January 2021. The result was my vehicle was "broke" by AV Chevy, which they admitted, which resulted in the sell my 2006 Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid (blue book value: ******) as an inoperative vehicle for ******* SEE ATTACHED

Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2022/06/28) */ Complaint Case #: XXXXXXX Consumer: **** ***** Case Opened: XXXX-XX-XX Dear *** ***** We would like to apologize for any inconvenience you may have experience. While reviewing your case, we find that not all the repairs that were completed on your vehicle may or may not have been the cause of the vehicle failing the smog inspections. The first time we saw this vehicle in our service department was at 148,467 miles so we do not know the history of the vehicle e.g., services and repairs that completed on the vehicle. So, it is difficult to determine if we were the cause of the failure at this mileage as there are parts that do wear down and it is difficult for us to see what electrical items can fail; they can fail whether they are new or years later. The first repair of the vehicle, we diagnosed the vehicle needing a battery sensor, which you did pay a diagnosis fee of $179.68 and special order the battery sensor. The second repair order there was no repair completed on the vehicle. The third repair order we installed the battery sensor, but we also found that the aftermarket radio installed was causing an electrical short circuiting the high-speed communication circuit causing the vehicle not to start. After removing the fuse, the vehicle was operating correctly. There were no charges for the special-order sensor and installation as well as the diagnosis for the no start condition. The fourth repair we were checking for a check engine light, the failed part causing the issue was a power steering control module. We also found additional diagnostic codes for the transmission and this repair was declined. On the same visit there were additional recommendations to have the heater hose and transmission cooler hose replaced due to the hose leaking fluid. The additional repairs were authorized, and they were completed as per your request. The fifth repair we were checking for the oil level indicator light was coming on as well as the brakes were not working correctly, which at this point you decided to work with the sales department to see if you were going to trade the vehicle in or not. The decision from Antelope Valley Chevrolet to assist you in this case is we will refund the repairs that you have completed with us in the total of $*******. Consumer Response /* (2000, 8, 2022/07/02) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) Refunded my out-of-pocket repairs paid. Vehicle had to be sold for parts/inop. Consumer Response /* (3000, 14, 2022/08/13) */ Business offered compensation for repairs but consumer (*******) never received. Resolution was accepted but it's been over 30 days and no info/compensation received.

I've made several attempts to resolve damage done to my new vehicle by this dealer; I had even purchased the vehicle from this dealer. When replacing the side mirror on the driver's side, they had done it incorrectly leaving the driver's door to rattle loudly when being driven. They "offered" to fix the issue but when I take my vehicle in, I believe they only have it sitting there for hours then return it to me; as the noise is still ongoing and has gotten louder/worse. I had gone to get the tire rotation done recently(02/17/2022), only to have the rims chipped/scuffed. Making any attempt to resolve any issue with them has been ineffective and tiresome.
