This complaint is to let Optum know that it is getting harder and harder to book appointments with the referred providers within the medical group. They dont have openings until two months later. I was able to book a urologist appointment with *************************** in *************, ********** for July 30th for my constant bladder pains. Initially, I went to my primary care physician in February and waited for the referral to be approved now its March. Called to make an appointment and no opening until May. I booked it since I had no other option. I called could not make the appointment due to work I had to reschedule and they didnt have an opening until July 30th. MEANING I HAVE BEEN LIVING WITH BLADDER PAIN FOR 6 MONTHS! This type of medical attention is not the service that us paying customers should receive. Our health concerns should be treated with urgency not as a business. I have also called multiple obgyn doctors available on the Optum website one being *************************** in ********, Ca and none of them take new customers, but my ********************** in ********, ********** has no obgyn in house so I have to seek something outside with no luck because none take new customers. In another instance I had to wait 2 1/2 months to see Dr. *** La a rheumatologist in *******, Ca since Im a new patient.For what Im paying to receive I would be better off at ******, I select Optum every year through my employer because the service is great with my primary care physician, but what great is the service if I cant even get into another actual specialty department doctors office to seek specific medical care that I rightfully deserve. I will make sure to leave this concern on every online platform I can find because I am truly disappointed that in ******* I cant be seen by a specialist doctor because of the medical coverage I chose with Optum, and it is only fair and transparent that other patients know the truth too.
