The most unprofessional experience ever! This business was contracted through Front Door, a third-party service, and on the first appointment, even though he had a 4-hour window, he said he would be at our home right at the end of that period... except he showed up 90 minutes beyond that. Even though the installation fee was included in the service we ordered through Front Door, when he looked at the situation, he claimed it would cost an additional $400, and that was only after he told me I could save money by digging a 24x18" deep hole in my garden, I'm assuming so he didn't have to get any dirty under his precious fingernails. He couldn't start the job until we approved the new quote through Front Door. After we approved the quote, he was rescheduled to return, but he couldn't be bothered to show up within the 4-hour window. But this time, we couldn't wait for his unprofessionalism. We called Front Door and had to reschedule once more. Jump ahead to today when he was supposed to be here between 1-5 pm, and by 4 pm, we hadn't heard anything from Front Door or this contractor. My wife called to find out what was happening and was told he would likely arrive at 5:30 because he was stuck in traffic. That would already be unacceptable, but the contractor didn't show up until 6:30!When he came to the door, completely oblivious and forgetful of the first time he had been by our home, I curtly explained how unsatisfied we were by his lack of respect for our time. I asked him to give us some compensation, but the best he could offer was a $50 reduction (not even 10% of what he wanted us to pay). I was livid but kept most of my composure. I'm sure my body language told a different story, but I told him to go ahead and do the work. He started to look at the problem, and I went back inside. Not 2 minutes later, my wife received a text message saying the contractor had canceled the call. We looked outside, and he left without saying anything.

We got assigned this job/lead through frontdoor, to install a *************** automatic shutoff valve. There is a questionnaire the homeowner fills out before we receive the job. The main question there is, "Is there is atleast 15"-18" straight pipe for the included prepaid installation". The homeowner answered "No". Upon the first time visit, our technician located the main water service shutoff entry to the home. 90% of the piping and fittings was buried below ground in the planter on the front left side of the home (pictures if needed). Our technician explained to the homeowner that two things needed to happen for the installation to be completed. 1. Dig and exposed much more piping to be able to rework the water line for space access to install the *************** device. 2. Additional piping and fittings would need to be cut and added to allow room and straight piping for the ***************. Both of these options were required for the install and would be out of pocket expenses to the homeowner. The technician initially told the homeowner that it would cost them $650.00 extra. However, the technician told the homeowner if he wanted to save some money to dig and expose more pipe himself he would only have to pay $400.00 for the additional piping and rework. The homeowner said he would dig, which he did. Fast forward to the appointment on 9/6. The technician was running behind schedule for the day and the customer was constantly made aware due to unforseen situations and heavy traffic. When the technician arrived, the homeowner was very upset and hostile towards the technician. He expressed his frustration and concerns with intimidating body language demanding additional discount because his time was disrespected. When the technician offered a $50 discount the homeowner laughed and continued to disrespect/insult the technician. The technician felt uncomfortable at this point and decided the best thing to do was, contact frontdoor so they can get the customer a different contractor.
