How this organization has a positive rating is very suspect. This is a Community ************* (CCE) program where they promise its customers cleaner energy than their current service provider, which in ******************* is probably either San Diego ************** (SDG&E) or Southern California ****** (SCE). However, these programs are operating a scam and are corrupt. Simply put, these organizations buy and sell power, the utility company, SDG&E or SCE, delivers the power. The utility companies do not have the infrastructure in place to load renewables on to their grid then they currently have. They have no backup system to store renewables in the percentages that these **** claim. There are no battery fields or wind farms in their cities, so when the sun goes down, fossil fuel is powering their electricity. And we ALL get the same as it comes from the utility company. So these customers of **** are paying a premium rate for power that they believe is cleaner and being funneled right into their homes, when its impossible! Logic tells you that, yet they continue making BILLIONS of dollars preying on customers who dont know any different. And those climate change activists who should know better, promote **** to keep themselves relevant while the **** donate to their non-profits. Its all a scam and its not helping to lower carbon emissions. Cities are automatically removing their residents and businesses from their utility company and enrolling them in these ***'s where they will be paying substantially more. My advice, get out nowyou may have to wait 6 months (another part of their scam), but when they decide to blowup the rate (because they are NOT regulated by the state), hopefully you will already be out.

      San Diego Community Power Response

      09/09/2024

Thank you for reaching out with your concerns. San Diego Community Power is a community-driven, not-for-profit public agency that provides cleaner energy to the San Diego region. Community Power was formed to bring choice and competition to the energy landscape in the San Diego region. As a Community Choice Aggregator (CCA), we purchase cleaner electricity on behalf of our customers and place that electricity onto the grid, which is run by SDG&E. The California Energy Commissions (CEC) Power Source Disclosure program works with retail electricity suppliers such as San Diego Community Power every year to ensure consumers receive energy source and greenhouse gas information on the energy they use. This information is provided through annual Power Content Labels, which resemble nutrition labels, with a breakdown of energy sources such as solar, wind, geothermal, nuclear, large hydroelectric, and natural gas. For comparison, the labels include a summary of ****************** mix, which is called total system electric generation. You can review SD Community Power's Power Content Label on our website at sdcommunitypower.org/key-documents. For specifics on our energy procurement and renewable energy projects we have developed and will develop in the coming years, you can visit sdcommunitypower.org/about/energy-sources. Automatic enrollment into Community Powers electric generation service is mandated by California state law. Customers can compare their ********************************************* rates to SDG&Es and opt-in to the service of their choosing by visiting our website at SDCommunityPower.org. For additional support, customers can also call ************** or email ******************************************************************* Customers enrolled in ********************************************* service for over 60 days may be subject to SDG&Es terms and conditions.
