talked to Michael about roof replacement and raised some concerns. Asked for a new quote with some change. However, no response and disappear completely. not the right way to treat customers. bad experience with them and not recommend.

Would you please kindly modify the quote with the following changes?

use the Certainteed Landmark Pro Solaris shingles
use fire & ice product in valleys and all roof penetrations
do we use other Certainteed accessories (such as underlayment, ridge caps, etc.) to get extended warranty from Certainteed?
We can have ridge vents to get extended warranty. But if I find any leak due to ridge vents in the future, do I have the warranty from your company to get it fixed?



Also, is this warranty transferable? say, I sold my house within 10 years, will this warranty be transferable to the next owner?

Both GAF & Certainteed require a Roofing System in order to get the Extended warranty. If you leave anything out of the roofing system you only get the limited lifetime warranty



50 year limited warranty on material defect

1st 10 years they will give you 100% of the shingles ONLY & they drop them in your driveway After10 year the shingles are prorated and they give you less as the years go by

NO installation warranty



The fire & ice product is a snow material & can help in the areas I listed before (valleys, skylights, chimneys & all roof penetration's) the cost of $ 500.00 was for that area ONLY If you are looking to cover the whole home it will drive your cost very expensive. & again missing a key part of the roofing & the MFG may NOT warrant anything on your Roof.

If we install some more O'Hagin vents (e.g., 4+) to provide enough ventilation, is that possible we can meet the requirements of GAF without ridge vent and have the extended warranty? Or, GAF requires ridge vents on all roofs with their shingles anyway?



Alternatively, if we install Landmark shingles from Certainteed, can we have the extended warranty without ridge vents?



I would like to have fire & ice products for better protection. It will be worth the investment in the long term.



I'm inclined with your proposal but ridge vent is the only and last concern to me. If we can have the extended warranty without ridge vents, I will feel more comfortable to move forward. Please let me know if that is possible. I really appreciate your expertise, Michael!

Hey, would you please remove my name and the email correspondence as I'm not comfortable to make them public.

Indeed, Michael gave me initial proposal and we have discussed about my concern about ridge vents for potential leakage issue. Later on I asked for a new quote with some changes on 04/04/2022 in the last email: (1) use better materials: Certainteed Landmark Pro Solaris shingles and accessories rather than GAF shingles in the original proposal; (2) add fire & ice product in valleys; (3) ask some questions about the warranty (fix the leakage and transfer warranty to next owner). However, I kept waiting and did not receive the new quote by 04/16/2022 when I posted the review.

As the customer, I think I have the rights to choose what I want to put on my roof and clarify questions before pay for the services. It is not acceptable to keep customers waiting and no response to their requests.

If the salesperson is out of office, his/her customers should be covered by others in the office. I don't see a reason for no response by any way. I'm not comfortable with my experience so I posted the review.
