The company replied stating that there is no evidence that Olaplex products cause hair loss or hair breakage. They claim that their products are thoroughly tested in-house and by independent third-party laboratories, and they use contract manufacturers who comply with Good Manufacturing Practices—a process that ensures Olaplex’s products are consistently produced and controlled according to quality standards. Based on this evidence, they remain confident that Olaplex products are safe and effective. There are a wide variety of reasons for hair breakage or hair loss, including lifestyle, medical conditions and medications, genetic factors, the aftereffects of COVID and other viruses, skin conditions and more. Because there are so many causes for hair loss and hair breakage, all hair care companies expect some number of complaints. That is why they recommend that anyone who experiences consistent hair breakage should consult their stylist and dermatologist to best understand their unique hair and skin needs. They company stated that when their customers are unhappy they give them their money back. Olaplex is willing to offer refunds for up to 12-months after purchase to customers who are not 100% satisfied.
