Hi, This review is to voice my concern in regards of Santa Clarita Valley Equestrian Center. My 10 year old daughter attended a birthday party at this facility on October 17th, 2021. The party involved riding a horse on a trail for about an hour. My daughter's horse was spooked at the end of the trail and started galloping. She was unable to hold on and fell off the horse. The injury resulted in a large abrasion on her upper thigh and still has not healed completely to this day. We immediately took her to the emergency room that day and was diagnosed with road burn and have been told she will have a permanent scar. The entire incident has been traumatic to both my child and me.

I believe her injury may have been lessened if we knew to wear jeans. We were told to wear long pants so she was wearing leggings at the time of the incident. I think if she wore jeans her abrasion would not be so deep. There were no first aid kit available as well. The only thing that was offered to me was that they can take my daughter to a shed so she can lie down but the worker also mentioned the shed was very dirty. It wasn't until I started walking to my car with my daughter almost fainting that a lady (worker) rushed to me asking if I needed any help.

I also think if there was someone in front of her horse while she crossed the road then maybe that horse would not have taken off. I don't know what the answer is but my daughter has encouraged me to write this letter because she doesn't want any other children to experience the pain she went through.

I'm also a bit disappointed no one ever contacted us about the status of my daughter. I emailed the business 2 months ago expressing my concern and the safety of the business but never heard from them. I just hope they understand that the injury to my daughter is not just a simple scratch but will have an ever lasting scar.
