I went in the office in April for a consultation for a replacement upper denture and a lower implant denture. On May 17, 2023, I wrote a check for $11,575 to cover the expense of my procedures and received a receipt for that payment. I had my lower teeth removed, 4 screws implanted in my lower jaw and a temporary lower denture on May 31, 2023. I went back to the office three times between May 31, 2023 and December 31, 2023. I received and email from Park View Fam I am writing you in regard to the extreme lack of care I received from Park View Family Dental and Shawn Custer, Dental on January 24, 2024, stating they were closing the office on February 22, 2024. I called to schedule an appointment and to talk about finishing the process. I went into the office on February 1, 2024. Doctor Custer exposed the bottom implants and I tried on my new upper denture and lower implant denture. I tried to talk to him about finishing before they closed the practice, or if I could take my dentures with me. He didn’t have time to talk and left the room. I tried to take the dentures with me, but I was told that I couldn’t. I thought they needed to do something with them for a final fitting, About a week later, I called back 3 times and left messages. When I didn’t get a response, I drove to the office. There was a sign on the door stating the office was permanently closed and giving an email address if anyone needed to contact the office. When I emailed the office letting them know I found a dentist to complete the process and asking of I could get my dentures. I received a response from the email stating they were releasing records as quickly as they could, and it could take up to 2 weeks. I never heard anything other than that and emailed again only to get a generic email stating the office was closed. I could not fathom why Dr. Custer did not just give me the dentures and why he kept them knowing that the last day the office was opened was on 2/1/24.
