Highly disappointed in our recent transaction with West End. I called to request servicing and repairing on our very old but well cared for John Deere Sabre. West End is a John Deere service provider and one of the only options listed in this area. The service manager was very polite on the phone. Scheduled a pickup for the following week. Never advised that there would be a fee for this service. After a week with no word, we called to check on status. They had not even looked at our tractor, advised us to buy a new model. That the machine wasn’t worth fixing. It’s November in the NorthEast. Why is someone buying a new lawn tractor before winter? Another week goes by, no one will answer the phone or return our calls. We get to a third week, they give my husband a quote for 1500 dollars but cannot outline what the actual quote is for. The only repair he mentioned were new blades which has nothing to do with the tractor being unable to start. My husband tells them in hard language to just bring the tractor back. The following day I get a call telling me I have a balance due of 130 dollars for pickup and delivery services. I ask him to walk me through the quote. Again he never tells me what the actual issue with the tractor is but claims it will cost at minimum 1000 dollars for labor and parts. What parts? Why can you not give a formal estimate if you actually looked at the machine? I would never recommend this company to anyone for service. Very unprofessional. I will be reporting them to John Deere as well. Very sad to see local businesses treat people this way.
