BBB requested that the business provide substantiation for any 'largest' claims in its advertising or consider modifying the claims but did not receive a reply.
At its website's Smart Home Technology page the business states "A study done by the US Environmental Protection Agency reports that this type of control over your property’s thermostat can save you up to 30% on your energy bill." According to the BBB Code of Advertising, claims relating to performance, energy savings, safety, efficacy or results for a product or service should be based on recent and competent testing or other objective data. BBB requested that the busiess provide proof or a link to any recent testing that substantiates this claim but did not receive a response.
