I arrived at this hospital 6:10pm on 6/9/2024. It took two days to be fully admitted into the hospital the wait times were ridiculous. My main issue is with DR. James A. I was dealing with fluid in my lungs and THIS DR told me if it weren’t for a cardiac issue he would send me home on antibiotics. I waited a full day and half a day to have the cardiac issue addressed. I stressed to nursing staff and as well to him the urgency to return home to my children, and I would not like to be kept for a simple exam. I could have been given options at that point, like f/u with PCP. I explained to this dr due to the wait time I would leave AMA, he stated out his own mouth if I did leave AMA he would still send me the antibiotics needed to the pharmacy. I waited one more day and ended up leaving AMA. Once I arrive to the pharmacy they cannot fill script due to an issue with the NPI, a simple fix that dr.a refused to address. Instead he belittled his nursing staff and stated he has not had any issues prescribing drugs in the last 18 years and it’s basically my problem to deal with. He then told his nurse since I left AMA he really didn’t have to help me, so pay for the medication out of pocket or don’t get it all. To allow your patients to suffer in pain as a retaliation for leaving DUE TO LONG WAIT Times is unethical, unprofessional and ridiculous. The god mentality should not be tolerated in healthcare
