This company moved me approximately one block. They were to pick up items from a storage unit but refused because of what Chuck said was my attitude. As a result I had to pay for another months storage and find another mover. Chuck saw the items in storage but refused to see the unit I was moving from. On moving day without measuring the lucite table with a glass top or the elevator, he refused to move the table. The director of Coral Oaks where I was moving measured both and told Chuck the table could be moved. Coral Oaks had recommended Chuck. Although he had been told that the table had been moved eight times, once from Seattle, he said he forgot to crate the glass. Both my daughter in law and myself had told him that the glass top which measures about 43 by 76 inches had always been crated and we wanted it crated for this move. The glass top was broken in a corner. He tried to put the broken top on the table. The son of the other mover who was also a mover got under the top as it was being placed. The glass broke and fortunately he was not injured. I don't know why Chuck decided to put the broken glass on the table. I have received estimates of 1200 to 3500 dollars to replace the glass. A foot long gauge was put into an antique barrister bookcase. I haven't paid his $600 fee for the move. He argued with me about wanting to move my purse and spent about an hour expressing his unwillingness to move the table. He charged on an hourly basis. He made promises to me he didn't keep. I had no reason to believe that he would submit a claim for the broken glass or the damage to th book case. The table is unique and was selling for $16000 in a designer's store. Breaking the original glass probably diminishes the tables value.
