What we're dealing with... My husband and I moved to the Cape last December and bought a home requiring numerous projects. One of our first orders of business was to get our lanai cage rescreened and painted. We used Gulf Coast Aluminum who were recommended by another contractor. They did what appears to be a good job on the rescreen and painting but they damaged our pool deck with chemicals and had significant overspray resulting in paint on our neighbors cars and solar cells on their roofs. We were out of town at the time but our neighbors reached out. Gulf Coast Aluminum worked with our neighbors to have their cars detailed and solar cells cleaned. We asked about our solar cells but we're assured that the wind was blowing away from our property and there was no overspray on them. Gulf Coast Aluminum did not agree to repair our pool deck as paint and style could not be matched but payed us an agreed upon amount to potentially cover a repair. Fast forward a few months and our solar company came by for routine maintenance on our solar panels. They reported to us that our panels were badly covered in paint from the overspray. My husband has repeatedly called them. At first they said they wanted pictures of the damage. My husband explained we are in our 60's and getting on the roof would be dangerous but that the solar company would vouch for the damage. After that they repeatedly sent my husbands calls to voicemail and no one returns our calls. We eventually, against our better judgement, climbed up on the roof and took pictures, which we sent them. They continued to ignore our calls. When we occasionally got a human on the phone they transferred us to the owner's voicemail and no one gets back. This has been going on for months!!! If anyone has any suggestions on how we can proceed it would be greatly appreciated. We have markedly reduced solar production as a result.
