Network Solutions is shady as they come. A domain expired due to a bad CC exxpiration date. That was on us, they sent various notices to the domain, again bad on us for not seeing those but we rarely use the domain and those emails were in junk email, also hosted by them. Long story short, the domain went past it's 45 days, they "deleted" it and when we contacted them they said oh.. it's been deleted but you can buy it from our ********************* for $2899.00 for a domain we normally renew for $14.99 per year. Those are some shady business practices and wanted to report this. No phone calls were made to us only email and even though they still own the domain they wouldn't restore it for us. Never using them again. Ideally Zero StarsReview from Asia A

If I (f) could give zero stars, I would. I am not a client; I was scammed by one of their clients. This person used my card to pay for services. I've been trying to get my money back, which is almost $3k, and they are making it incredibly hard for me to get a refund. I've sent EVERYTHING they need. All they say is, "You did it wrong; you sent it to another department. The case is closed, then the case is open." I just want my money back, and they are making me run in circles. Worst service ever! They want me to download apps that I don't know anything about. I don't know what they do, but they want me to do things that they should have done since they started to verify that the client was using his card. That's right, a male client is using my card, and they can't prove that I am the account owner.Review from patricia K

We were introduced to this company 8 months ago. It was the website being used by a company we acquired. Dealing with this company has been nothing but a nightmare for the last 6 months. It has been down more than working. They refuse refund for inactive time , repairs are very short lived and customer chats have become useless. They now have locked our account and want $1400 to renew.Review from Bruce M

I hesitate to even make this review - I have wasted so much of my life with this company. It is exhausting to even think about. I opened an account with ********************** for a very small state county conservation non-profit. I retired from this non-profit a year later, after over 2 decades with the *** A person stepped in to replace me - for all web site work and e-mail. We began the process of changing the Primary Contact with Network Solutions from me to the new individual. We inquired as to how to proceed and were given a long list of steps. We notarized the switch via public notary, the new person had to submit a copy of their driver's license, submit a copy of a personal billing to add credibility as to who they were claiming to be and had to submit the Non-Profit's by-laws, and their post office box, etc...We never heard back from Network Solutions...months went by...I to my retired life...the new replacement as the Primary Contact. But nothing changed for the new Primary Contact, and the billing and all communications kept going to me.The new Primary Contact and I "each" went through many, many more hours on "hold" and via live support after this and were told we would have to resubmit everything as nothing had been done. (This was many, many, months after our first submission for changing "Primary Contact".After we (The new Primary Contact and I) went through the whole process all over again, with the NEW Primary Contact person having to recreate newer documents, only to have the renewed second effort fall on deaf ears...I was still listed as the Primary Contact a year and a half later. The replacement person took the next year wasting their time with Network Solutions and finally gave up in such frustration that the new Primary Contact just quit...quit trying...quit the job.I still receive notices for the account, and finally gave up trying to reason with them (Network Solutions). 4 years later - still nothing resolved.Review from Brian Q

It is extremely difficult to turn off auto-renew for services. I turned off all auto-renews for about a dozen services two months ago, only to find that I was being billed for them still. Also, the button for turning off auto-renew is often greyed out. Also, the auto-renew page does NOT show all services that are subject to auto-renew. I found out the hard way on my bank statement. I was then told I had to go to the "services" page to see those. That would not be obvious at all to someone who was trying to manage their NS account. They also told me they could not refund money that was automatically paid for any hidden services.I have heard of companies that make a lot of money from people who forget to turn off auto-renew -- but this company makes money from making it as hard as possible to turn off auto-renew successfully. Also, I had problems with a blocking message sporadically appearing on my site from the platform openresty. I had never heard of openresty and was convinced that the problem had to do with NS and their shared hosting platform, but their service rep told me it was not their problem and that I had to pay $70 for "MyTime" if I wanted someone to look into it.I'm not going to pay $70 to help NS solve their own problems. I don't mind being told that it's not an NS issue, but I want to be told from someone who knows what they're talking about and not from a customer service rep who is just tired of my phone calls. Here's a typical call to customer service reps at NS. The *** site is clearly down because no files will upload via FileZilla. What's the first thing they ask me? "What port are you using?" What? The same one that I've been using for 30 years. The problem is on your end. Your shared hosting server is down. These are the guys who, 30 years ago, would have asked you to make sure that your computer was plugged in.Review from Shelly W

They make it difficult to disable auto renewal of their nsmail pro services. Ive been cha tv ed ************ for many years without me knowing and Ive stopped auto renewing the domain but the email continued. I had to go talk through a cal center to disable and had to waste 30 min to get it disabled. I refreshed and it finally shows the correct status but then it was so easy to enable renewal and auto renewal but not the other way around. This company is a scam and follows unethical consumer practices. Bait and switch and hopes that the customer forgets and they continue to bill you.Network Solutions Response

We appreciate your feedback. We recommend ensuring your email address on file is current, as renewal notices are regularly sent to the email address on file. The renewal center within your account can disable automatic renewal for your products and services. We recommend our support team for further assistance if you encounter difficulty doing so.Review from Tim F

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!We are trying to transfer our domain from them to another provider. Case has been opened for 10 days. They not only keep denying the transfer, but now they have locked me out of our online account. I have repeatedly requested that the case be escalated and I still keep getting told that "they'll call me back" and "they understand my frustration and they apologize". This last phone call this morning, I told them if they didn't call me back in 2 hours as THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD again (this was the Philippines call center supervisor ******), that I would turn this over to our corporate attorney. I have wasted probably 15 hours in 10 days simply trying to get our domain released for transfer.Review from Kimberly J

A sales rep oversold me on products that I didn't need and the process was extremely confusing on what I needed in order to have a website running. I bought a domain name and website yet the website would not work on apple products. **************** replied maybe you should try using something other than a Mac or iPhone. I paid for a 5 year service and expect that the website and domain name will work on any device. My customers shouldnt be limited to what device they use in order to access my website. I was denied a refund. I would NOT recommend this company.
