    Pattern of Complaint:
    Based on BBB files, Strong, Inc. dba Pools N Spas Of Central Florida has a pattern of disputes alleging contract and customer service issues. Consumers allege once a contract has been signed, and the down payment made, Strong, Inc. does not honor promises made to consumers. Consumers allege Strong, Inc. gives a proposed start date for pool installation, however, consumers complain of numerous delays in start dates and during the construction process. Some consumers allege that despite paying for their projects in full, Strong, Inc. never completes the pools they were contracted to build. 
     

    On April 27, 2018 BBB sent correspondence to Strong, Inc. with concerns regarding the pattern of complaints. BBB received a reply on May 2, 2018 stating:

    We have successfully completed over 5,000 jobs in 30 years and you have had maybe 5 complaints that I know of. We notice the complaints are never quality issues. We do not have start dates or completion dates in our contract. We do have an arbitration clause which has not been used in over 10 years because the complaints people make are not legitimate.

      They built a pool for me about 5 months ago and it has a leak confirmed by other pool professionals. I tried communicating with this company and I am not getting any response back. They are ignoring my issue and communication attempts.I need them to honor the warranty they gave me and come to fix the pool leak.

      We reached out to this company several times for resolution on the issues below with the exception of the cooling system not working because we recently just found that out and its no surprise its not working because they never tested the entire system before completing the work, Cooling System Installation: The cooling system for the unit appears to be incorrectly installed, rendering it unusable. We recently discovered this problem and have not been able to utilize the cooling system at all. Paver Gap Near Spa: The gap in the paver near the spa remains unresolved. The size of the gap is significantly larger than what is acceptable, and its presence is not only unsightly but also poses a potential safety concern. Non-functional Return: One of the returns in the pool is still not operational. This problem has persisted despite our attempts to bring it to your attention. Inconsistent Caulking on Tile: The caulking on the tile, where it was retouched, does not match the rest of the pool. It is essential that the appearance of the caulking is consistent across the entire pool to maintain the overall aesthetic. Pending Pavers for Shower Area: To our disappointment, we have yet to receive the pavers required for the shower area. This delay is causing a significant inconvenience, as the completion of this area is crucial for the overall functionality of the pool and spa. We have been waiting since April 2023 to get these issues resolved with no update what so ever from the contractor.

      We signed a contract on May 17th, 2022 and the job is still not complete. We have had issues with poorly laid plaster, leaks in the pool, cracked travertine, subcontractors exposing themselves to our neighbors, subcontractors stealing electricity from our neighbors, and endless communication failures on their part. Despite these compounding complaints the biggest was the deliberate withholding of a service that would keep me and my family safe. The company was contacted on August 2nd, 2023 regarding strips of jagged concrete exposed along the sides and back of the pool. The company responded that they will not fix this potentially dangerous sharp concrete until the landscaping passes inspection from the county. The landscaping from the county, per the inspectors report has no bearing on the sharp concrete that is exposed and should not prevent the company from correcting it. Per the company's warranty they agree to "substantially complete the work contracted for in a workman-like manner." This is just one example in which they are completely and irrevocably dishonoring a contractual obligation.

      Pool was completed and passed inspection on 02/10/23 from the county. An employee from Quality Pools by ****** *** came out around the end of Dec for our Pool class, and to connect the pool automation. Owners have been informed that this is not functioning properly, and have made several promises that someone would contact us / and or would be out. The lack of concern is very upsetting. We are constantly told one thing, and no one follows up. Note: Dec is when the automation was connected. The Only way to operate our heater, is going to the panel, and turning on or off the heater / blower. It's very hard to answer the below question. ****** ********! All equipment is new and under warranty, we are looking for a resolution as our text messages, are just that "text messages". Connect the Automation so that it works, replace whatever needs to take place, or get Pentair out here to resolve the problem. Sincerely ****** ******
