We took our dog in with a knee injury to their Live Oak location. We told Caring hands multiple times to not give her any shots because she had an appointment at her regular vet the next week. We also told them multiple times that the dog was in the middle of a 2 part ********* treatment.They kept our dog for a few hours to run some tests and when we picked her up, she was in very bad shape. We had to restrain her while she howled in terror for over 3 hours. Finally, after she calmed down, I looked at the paperwork. They had given her ALL of her shots and had also given her another *********. Exactly what we told them not to do. With that horrid attention to detail and the arrogance of doing exactly what we asked them not to do, I can only assume they messed up the sedatives they gave her, causing an awful reaction. We thought we were going to lose our baby over making a very bad decision to trust Caring Hands. We are so thankful to know this now and will certainly never trust them again.Icing on the cake is they charged us $600 bucks to torture our baby and do exactly what they were told not to do.

After reviewing your concerns and your pets medical record for her most recent visit, we did not give her any additional vaccines that are elective, or any additional deworming medications at her visit. We did administer a 1 year Rabies vaccine as her prior history did not indicate her current rabies vaccine status, and all veterinarians are required by Florida state law to ensure that pets are current on this vaccination. I do apologize that she did not recover well from her sedatives. Just like you and I they all react differently to different medications, what you tolerate and what I tolerate may be completely different but we do not know that until we have a bad experience to learn from. While what we generally use is well tolerated and safe, there will always be exceptions to the rule. That does not mean that it was unsafe, just that she did not respond to it well. Her account has already been flagged that she does not tolerate those sedative medications well and any future sedative events for her we would need to use something else for her benefit. It does look like we sent you home with an additional treatment plan for the remainder of her vaccines (shots), dewormer, and recommended annual testing, this was strictly an estimate and does not indicate that those services were done while she was with us.
