One week before a vehicle I wanted to bid on was due to come up for auction, I created a new copart account. Immediately upon creation, I received an email saying that my status had changed to "suspended." I contacted customer service via the chat option and was told that I needed to provide proof of residency in the form of a utility bill, mortgage statement, etc. I emailed a photo as directed immediately. I was told they would process it in 4 hours and my account would be active. I contacted customer service again the next day when my account was still suspended and was told to continue waiting, it would be handled soon. Two days later, my account was still suspended so I contacted them again (first thing in the morning) . This time I was told that they could not process it because they needed my photo ID as well. I immediately emailed my photo ID and proof of residency again. I was told it would take 1 business day to process. That was a Friday. First thing Monday I contacted them again and the chat support person told me he would check into it and email me. I received an email several hours later saying it had never been received. I sent back proof but received no reply. Later that evening I contacted chat again. This time I was told that you have to put your member number as the subject line or it doesn't count. I submitted the information once again and was told it would be handled in one business day. It is now Wednesday and my account is still suspended. I missed the auction and have requested a refund of the membership fee. This is the worst customer service I've ever dealt with.
