This concerns the so-called diagnosis of ***********************************. First, I told him repeatedly that I do not go out into the sun (avid indoorsman), yet he continually force-feeds this idea as the cause through what can only be described as his control disorder, basically calling me a liar. I even suggested that a likely cause could have been the stress involved from weeks of pain after oral surgery. Whether thats the cause, who goes outdoors after oral surgery? It was also previously diagnosed by VA as a likely staph inf. Rather than acknowledging the total obvious (I didn't have the rash before surgery), he gives me his silent treatment (control mechanism), again in favor of his sun-exposure explanation that he must force due to the demands of (again) what appears to be his control disorder. He even took a culture from an obscure area on my face rather than the swollen pus-filled bumps (?). This appeared to be another attempt to force-feed this explanation.He also includes in his diagnosis, 'depression.' I have never been diagnosed with depression in all my 58 years. Yet, there it is. This inclusion seemed to be the result of my not giggling & laughing along with what can best be described as his forced celebrations throughout our second meeting (the rash wasnt gone but clearing). During these forced celebrations, he would modulate his voice between high and low as if I were 5 years old (another control mech.). Failure to play along with lots of giggling and affirmation (as opposed to feeling insulted & disrespected) clearly frustrated him (visibly) resulting in a retaliatory diagnosis of depression owing to my lack of cooperation & facial expression (he couldnt control me).I could go on, but suffice it to say that during both visits he not only displayed gross incompetence but spoke in a disrespectful & overfamiliar way, even referring to me as "big guy." Incessantly talking down to me (or invalidating everything I had to say), despite my being 20 years older.

It is the goal of Brevard Skin and Cancer Center to provide the utmost in patient satisfaction. We review all patient suggestions and complaints thoroughly and address them internally as we have had in the case of ************. As part of this process, we have also reviewed other negative comments posted by this patient against a medical provider of a completely different practice seeking to learn from his experiences. Often times, the root cause is as simple as personality types not aligning leading to a perceived suboptimal patient/provider experience.
