I hired ProFormance Roofing to replace my existing barrel tile roof with a flat tile roof at the agreed upon price of $55,000. They hired subcontractors to complete job who did a substandard unacceptable job. They returned x3 to try to repair but failed. I hired a professional licensed in ********** home inspector to do roof inspection. He documented many still existing deficiencies. A ProFormance Roofing employee returned x 2. He put caulking where the inspector found there was drip edge lacking in areas where it should be. Changed out the insufficient vents and sprayed Styrofoam into the areas so animals. Did not address other reported issues. Tred reaching to Local General manager with pictures of the rotted wood pictures they wanted as their employee stated even though issue was noted in inspection report if there were no pictures they do not have to repair. The photos also show an area where daylight can clearly be seen coming through this brand new roof. I have also been documenting this ongoing disaster with the licensing department every step of the way. Now they sent me a new final invoice last week of an increased amount to include materials necessary to try to remedy their problems/ deficiencies. Also, not following any precautions for protecting my property they are aware the have damaged AC unit, cracked driveway papers and other misc damage. I have yet to get new aerial photos since last attempt at repairs due to winds to note current status of tiles as per lifting ang cracking. This is a brand new roof and appears as a botched up disaster. It still has problematic areas. As I was writing the general manager wrote denying any further issues and claiming their private inspector passed the roof? Honestly do not know what to do at this point. Someone suggested trying here before contacting an Attorney so I am hoping for some sensible resolution.

Proformance Roofing never fulfilled their contractual obligation to repairing our roof. They state their work is guaranteed and warrantied. They repaired a leak in the roof which had caused damage to the closet below the leak. Once they came out and repaired the leak I had the closet repaired. A few months later that same spot is leaking again in the roof. I called their company and they sent someone out to repair. Once that person got here. They said they did not have the right items to repair and would have their office call and schedule another time to come out and fix that leak. We never heard back from the company and was forced to call them back. My wife spoke with one of their employees and she stated they were not going to honor their warranty for the repair. We have tried multiple times to reach out to Proformance Roofing and been unable to reach anyone or get a return response.

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/11/16) */ This was a repair job we did in September 2019 not a complete reroof. The job was completed properly, and the Homeowner was satisfied. Since then the homeowner has called to report several other leaks from different parts of the roof. We went out several times and advised the homeowner that these were new leaks coming from other areas of the home. Our repair warranty is for 1 year and the homeowner is also aware of this. We did however go out again in September of 2022 as a courtesy to inspect the roof for the homeowner. We found that all the valleys and walls of the roof we covered in three to four inches of leaves and pine needles. This debris is not allowing the water to flow off the roof and instead is causing it to pool. Homeowner was advised to have the roof cleared of the debris or she would continue to have issues. We have gone above and beyond to assist and have advised that the new areas of concern are not our responsibility. Consumer Response /* (3000, 10, 2022/11/18) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) We never called to report several other leaks. We called to report the same leaks this company repaired in 2019 and to have them come out and repair those leaks and the damage that was being done to the home in those leak locations. We never called this company to come out several times for new leaks. We contacted this company twice to come out and repair the work they did in 2019. The first contact was to repair their previous work in Aug of 2022 to fix a leak they repaired on the left side of the home and the second call was in Sept of 2022 to fix a repair they did on the right side of the home. There are no other leaks in our roof other than the 2 areas we hired this company to repair in 2019. We reject their statement that we are aware of a 1 year warranty. According to the signed contract we have from the company. There is no stated timeframe on their warranty guarantee for repair work done located in this signed contract. As for their false comment that the valleys and roof is covered in 3 to 4 inches of leaves and pine needles is a lie. We do not have any pine trees located on the property of our lake home. Any debris that does get on the roof is typically blown off during our windy days on the lake or during thunderstorms we get frequently during the year. Per our last phone call with this company. We believe that they do not want to resolve this due to the fact they relayed to us that they no longer perform repair work and they do not have the crews or staffing for it. Business Response /* (4000, 12, 2022/11/22) */ I want to reiterate that workmanship warranties are good for 1 year and we were called back for a repair two years after the job was completed. I may have been wrong about pine needles; however, the dead valleys of the roof are covered in leaves and other debris. I have attached several photos we took while out when we were called back to this home in August. The debris prevents water from flowing off the roof and pools in these valleys. We are willing to refund the cost of the repairs so the homeowner can find another company if this resolves their concerns. Consumer Response /* (2000, 14, 2022/12/01) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) If the company refunds our cost for the repair fees that would an acceptable resolution.

This company installed our roof and punctured an A/C line (used improper nailing techniques). They took no accountability for the damage nor did they send a representative to look at the damage. We had to hire technicians to inspect the damages and all shared the same outcome. This was negligence that could have been avoided with an experienced crew that knows the basics of roofing. After several conversations, they refuse to take any accountability for the damage their crew caused nor make any attempts to resolve it. The contract states that PFR will not be held responsible for damage to AC line that are attached to the underside of the roof decking, framing or trussing. The AC line is not attached to the underside of the roof decking, framing or trussing. The installers still managed to puncture our line due to poor craftsmanship and negligence. We provided them with pictures and the contact info of the technicians that reviewed the work. The damage was caused by roofing nails placement. In fact, there are 3 nails that are actively engaged in the AC line in the same area. Additionally, there are dips in our brand new roof showing additional poor craftmanship that we let slide by. However, damage our AC unit is very negligible and not good business. They completed the job really fast so we understand mistakes happen. At least acknowledge it and fix it. The PM claimed he saw our AC unit working after stopping by post-project completion. That is very unlikely seeing as how it was not even hot in Fl as of yet. Additionally, we have a German shepherd in the backyard. To come in our yard without permission or one of us with him would have caused a stir and is concerning. Attached is a copy of the dips on just one part of the roof. The damage was captured via video and shared with the owner. We will acquire pics too and can post here since video is not allowed.

We hired ProFormance Roofing on 11/19/21 to replace shingles and repair the entire roof for our property. From the first day they started the work at the property we started to point out the mistakes they were making and the things they were not replacing or fixing, after numeral calls, messages, pictures, they were still making mistakes, not fixing the issues. One of the employees told my husband that who cares if the roof came out bad the house was ugly and it was not going to make a different. We are extremely concern for our safety and the safety of our neighbor since we realized this roof work was not attached to the actual structure of the house, not one nail actually hit the structure, all nails or exposed, rotten wood was left and used to attached the new shingles. We hired a inspector to come out and after a 24 page report of all the error and dangerous concerned of the worked done by this company, I contact the owner one more time to forward him the inspector report, another appointment was schedule for him to walk around the property and to show him one more time all the mistakes, he was extremely rude, arrogant, wouldn't let me finish one sentence without interrupting, didn't have a plan of how they were going to fix or handle this major error by his company, and left just saying that he didn't need to fix anything and was going to file a lien on the house, I remind him one more time that money was not an issue but I was not going to pay him for a horrible work done by his unprofessional staff. This company like to steal people money and without any consequences, I now need to hired a new company to come and fix the entire work, therefore why do I need to pay them for something now another company will have to fix since the owner himself things is ok to go around defrauding individuals . We haven't been able to continued the remodeling of this property because of the roof work not been fixed.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/02/17) */ Work was completed in a satisfactory manner, addressing all aspects of the estimate's scope of work and change orders to make repairs to wood decking. City inspector passed the inspection on the work performed by Proformance Roofing. Homeowner has water damaged trusses (rotten) which we are not able to replace due to limitations of what a licensed roofing contractor can perform in Florida. To repair structural damage they would need a Florida Licensed General Contractor. We did however scab on 2x4s to stabilize any damaged trusses but are limited in scope from replacing them as they homeowner wants completed. A company manager (Justin L**) walked the property with the homeowner and explained that we cannot repair structural components. The homeowner also has missing soffits and he explained that she would need to contact a soffit contractor as it was not covered in our scope of work, nor is it something we perform. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/02/23) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) From the first day we were really clear with the sales rept John L****** about what we wanted done at that property, replace shingles, all damaged wood and fix or replace all wood structure needed, they even had a budget for the wood repair and we were really clear about not buying cheap material and to replace all needed, we were really clear every day by phone calls, messages, and emails, about all the mistakes and wrong work that they were doing, and was not been fixed, therefore how they are going to say now that the work was completed and satisfactory, to whom it's satisfactory? to them themself and not us the owner of the house, We had to hire a inspector to review this disaster done by Proformance Roofing and clearly after 24 page report showing that Proforming roofing doesn't know what they are doing and after seeing now on BBB that they have 15 open cases against their company is more that clear that they are just going around stealing peoples money and putting residence life at danger with dangerous roofing work, the first city inspection did not passed the work, none the less I have contact the city and open an investigation, the Chief Building Inspector when to the property on 2/21/22 to revise the work approved by his employee,we are currently awaiting for his report on this investigation.

I called Proformance Roofing, to inquire about the install date and availability of the materials. John stated that installs were 2-3 weeks and that the materials were available for my job. On November 12, I put down my deposit of $2632.50. And was advised that the office would be calling to set an install date. About 3 week pass without any communication from the office or John (sales rep) regarding the install date. So after no follow-up, I send an email out to John on 11/29/2021 to request an ETA on my roof install. John then responds back with that date of 12/16/2021 had been scheduled and that everything is good to go. A week before install, John then calls me and tells me that the materials are unavailable for install on 12/16 as promised and that there is now a 3 month backlog. John then suggests I call the manufacturer directly. I then responded that I was promised that the materials were available on multiple occasions and that the project would finally be completed on 12/16. John then advised that I could send a letter to cancel the contract with no ramifications. So I sent the letter to him reflecting a refund of my full deposit. Proformance Roofing then states that I'd be receiving a refund less the amount paid for the permit. So I request a receipt for he amount paid for permit for my records. When I receive the check it is missing $300.00. After no one responds to my request for the receipt, I decided to call the Polk County Permit office for a copy of the receipt and was informed that no payment had been made for the permit. I then reach out to Proformance Roofing to inquire as to the rest of my deposit and was told by the office that I should be receiving a call back regarding the discrepancy. Needless to say, there has been no further communication from the company regarding my refund. I just want the company to refund my remaining $300 deposit.
