Since September 29, 2022, **** caused me to believe that my deceased Aunt who passed on Aug 16, 2022 removed me as her payable on death beneficiary on her account containing $578,000 on August 1, 2022. Only for it to be revealed that ************* with a family member to list the family member as the beneficiary of those funds following my aunts death-some 15 days later on August 16, *********************************** contravention of their own new account policies and other protocol which shows that on August 1, 2022 my aunt opened a new account and did not complete paperwork to designate beneficiaries at all. All of her bank account balances were to go to her estate.This financial institution is a penal institution full of ******* folks that have no place around money-they will lie and hide evidence and disregard laws.Georgia United Credit Union Response

Our records confirm this reviewer has no membership, accounts, deposits, or loan products with Georgia United Credit Union ("GUCU") and is therefore not a "consumer" of the services of GUCU. This reviewer has repeatedly advised **** of her goal which is to obtain funds from our depositor's payable-on-death accounts despite the depositors designation of a different family member as beneficiary of those accounts. GUCU has an obligation to, and does, strictly follow the instructions of its depositors during their lifetimes with regard to disbursement of funds upon any such depositor's death, regardless of the expectations or satisfaction of a depositors relatives or the dynamics and disputes between family members who expected to inherit the funds from such accounts. **** also denies the allegations of collusion, disregard, lawlessness, concealment, and the peculiar allegation of being a jail ("penal institution") as patently false and, in this medium, libelous. Given the nature of this complaint, including the pending cross legal actions that have been filed by this reviewer and her family members against each other, we believe that we have addressed this BBB filing to the fullest extent possible here. It will not be discussed further in this forum, and we consider this matter closed.Review from Jackie W

I applied for a small personal loan and was sent an email about being approved. Later, received a called stating that the loan was approved and that the money would be deposited in my account. However, the same day another person emailed me stating that I needed to pay a past due bill, before the loan could be paid. Really!! This was the reason that I was asking for the loan. Is it proper practice to ask someone to pay a bill before the issue the payment of a loan that was already approved.*********************** and ******************* should review the loan department in *******, Georgia.Georgia United Credit Union Response

I've been banking with GUCU for years and have always had a stellar experience. I rely on them for all of my banking needs. I have my checking, savings, car loan, mortgage, and a credit card through them. The rates are very competitive and I've never had an issue.The online banking experience is a breeze. I can deposit checks, make payments, transfer funds and manage my money through their mobile app with ease. Any time I've ever had to contact support I've received the answer I needed in a professional manner. Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. I would never recommend or use them again for a car loan. I am counting the days my loan is paid off. They have several times updated their website and every time they do this it stops my bi-weekly payments from going through THEN they charge me late fee's on top of double my payment. Representative ******* very rude and disrespectful as I was talking. Transferred the phone as I was trying to explain to her my issue. This is the second day that Ive call to get assistance with downloading their new app. Also Ive been unable to access my account for several months. Greetings It has been almost 2 months that I have had to fight for money to be replaced in my acct. On 10/13/**, 3 fraudulent charges were applied to my checking account . Unauthorized charges are $344.10- ***** $ ****** - DTLR $ *****- Rue 21 I have never shopped at these stores nor did I authorize any purchases I had to submit 2 claims and make a visit to the Whitehall branch to resolve this issues. The purchases were made in store at ***************. I was in ****** and ********* the week of Oct 10th. Documentation was provided verifying my whereabouts. Pictures were also provided with a time stamp verifying my whereabouts on Oct 13th. I also filed a police report with east point # **-013811. As I write this email, Im home recovering from surgery on Monday 11/28. Im asking the business institution copied in this email to help me with this case. Ga United rep position is that the card was used in store making it a legitimate purchase bc I reported that I had the card with me. I have overwhelming proof that I was not physically in the area and I did not make or authorize these purchases.Ive been a member of this credit union for several years. The charges do not support my spending patterns. I have $520 deposited in my acct bi- monthly. Im a school social worker. $500 is a lot of money lost if not replaced Ga United is being unreasonable. I wonder if there is an internal ring within the branch of which they are trying to cover up bc this does not make any sense! After the recent change to the online banking system, which created significant inconvenience for me, my direct deposit did not go through. I then spent exactly 1 hour and 18 minutes on the phone trying to get the bank to fix the issue. Nothing was resolved and, in fact, ******--who was as unprofessional as her name might imply--became snippy and defensive when I advised that **** was the source of the problem because I have never had a issue with direct deposit in the 4 years prior to the system change. She was impatient when demanding information from me and rushed me off the phone without resolving a solitary thing. I have been with GUCU for the past 15 years and the service has gotten consistently worse. Therefore, as soon as this situation gets resolved, I'll be going to another bank. Incidentally, I advised ****** that I would be moving my money to another bank due to the extremely poor customer service (which includes the ridiculous wait times) and she made no comment. If this person represents GUCU, I can comfortably and without any regret remove my money to a more competent institution. Good riddance, GUCU.Georgia United Credit Union Response
