The owner, *****, aggressively tailgated my daughter IN HIS BUSINESS TRUCK from downtown Eagle to our subdivision and home, stopping next to her car when she parked on the street in front of our home, yelling at her that she needs to be a better driver. WHAT GROWN MAN DOES THAT to a 20-something woman??

      Eagle Wind Properties, Inc. Response

      04/03/2024

I was heading north on Eagle Rd towards State St in a construction zone.  The two lanes that normally proceed straight through the intersection were being forced to merge into one lane by orange construction barrels and a large lane reduction digital sign.  The left lane was being forced to merge into the right lane.  Traffic was backed up at least 20 cars deep in each lane.  The traffic light had cycled at least 2 times.  Traffic was moving at less than 5 mph as we got further into the construction zone and approached the traffic light.  I was in the left lane.  There was a truck in the right lane in front/beside my vehicle.  Another vehicle, white **** was in the right lane behind/beside me just off my back right bumper.  With my right blinker on, I started to slowly merge into the right lane as the construction barrels were forcing me to the right.  I was slowing down waiting for the truck in the right lane to move far enough forward so I could safely complete merging into the right lane.

The white *** did not let me merge into the zipper merge that was required by the construction zone unlike the other vehicles in the right lane were allowing, per the traffic conditions and signage.

The white *** sped up, passed me on the right, so close that I had to slam on my brakes, swerve to the left, and was being forced into the construction barrels.  The white *** passed so close as I swerved I thought it may have scraped my vehicle.  The *** continued through the intersection without stopping.  I followed thinking I may have been hit and that the *** was fleeing the scene of an accident.  At no time did I aggressively tailgate the *** or break any traffic laws.

In the neighborhood, the *** flipped a u-turn.  As they were flipping around, I stopped my vehicle and rolled my drivers side window down.  Before I could say anything the driver of the *** started yelling profanities, calling me a mother f***er and flipping me the bird.and then pulled off.  I turned around and started driving back towards the entrance of the neighborhood to leave the area.  As I came around the corner the *** was stopped on the right side of the road.  I stopped in the middle/left side of the road, at least 10 away from the *** and rolled down my passenger window.  The driver of the *** continued to yell profanities, got out of the vehicle slamming the door, and charged towards my vehicle stopping a foot away from my window and continued to yell profanities.  I never yelled at the other driver.  Never used profanity and never exited my vehicle.  The driver threatened to call my employer to which I replied, I am the owner.  She threatened to call the police and I said I would gladly speak to them.  The other driver continued to yell and because of their aggressive behavior towards me, I decided it wasnt worth trying to get the drivers information so I simply said ****, have a nice day and drove way.  A woman was standing in the driveway as I was pulling away.  I waved to her and also wished her a nice day.

The next day the driver of the vehicle, or someone they are related to, or know, posted inaccurate information on my ******** page and their own ******** page.  Part of the post indicated a police report had been filed.  That is not true.

I contacted the City of Eagle ***************** and the Ada County Sheriffs Department.  I spoke with two different officers on separate occasions.  Both stated no police report was filed.  Both officers stated that because I thought I may have been hit I had every right to follow the vehicle thinking they were fleeing the scene.  They made a suggestion that if a similar situation ever occurs in the future to call the police department and give them a play by play of the streets we are on and where we are turning so they could find and stop the vehicle from fleeing.
