My experience on a kitchen remodel..and my experience has been a disaster. I was working with *** and her manager ******. Let me start with ***, she was initially responsive at first but as the project was materializing her emails distilled down to one or two word emails without further explanation. My plan from the start was to move the microwave from above the range. to a custom made cabinet on the other side of the kitchen and place it in a pantry cabinet (which is very doable) *** wasnt sure at first but then assured me that this can be done if I pay extra (2000$ worth more) to incorporate the custom made cabinet into the cabinet. This took countless of back and fourth emails to finally finalize plans. Fast fwd 5 mons for the delivery of the cabinets and I realized that the custom built microwave insert (that I paid extra for) was made for a pantry shelf (not used to accomodate an appliance like a microwave) and upon placing the microwave the shelf was bowing!! I contacted *** and spoke to ****** and they basically mentioned that there is no such thing as an appliance shelf and that I should support the shelf from below with supports and a 2x4 plywood. Both options dont work since the supports are only a temp fix and the 2x4 plywood wouldnt fit as this a custom made opening made for the microwave!! I would like to be compensated for t he 2000$ extra that I paid for this customized microwave space as it clearly was not built right! I had 2 contractors look at it (Experienced in kitchen installations) and both mentioned that an appliance shelf is the standard and is usually atleast an inch to an inch and a half thick to accomodate the weight of the appliance. I never felt this disrespected after spending so much time, money and effort on a small kitchen project. I would appreciate a compensation for my time and money as the product is not safe and did not meet standard expectations!
