Along with my partner, I went to the Elmhurst facility for knee injections. We were told it was covered by ********* We were directed to a room for physical therapy and a Chiropracter even though neither of us had back pain. We continued going to the clinic because it took 3 weeks to get both knees injected. I then decided against returning because we received some large bills, and realized how expensive this treatment was. Three months later we received another ****. At no time were we informed that we would have to pay for physical therapy and chiropractic treatment. The worst part of going through this is the injections were not successful. Neither of us has relief from knee pain and stiffness. I think a person should be informed of all treatments and what it will cost.

For HIPPA reasons we cannot address any other patients mentioned in your comments. That being said you spoke with Iris one of our billing associates recently and she told you the statement you received was being looked into and she would get back to you once we had a clear explanation. This process is still ongoing. Getting responses from insurance currently is taking longer than usual on their end. Also, you have a ******** advantage plan through Humana and ******** part B as you primary insurance which would result in having copays or deductibles. At any time while you were receiving treatment you could have opted out of any treatment by letting any of the clinical staff know and you would have been taken off the schedule. Lastly and unfortunately, as is the case in healthcare treatment rendered there is no guarantee of results. Patients respond to treatments differently based on their body and specific condition. Our records indicate as of the last statement sent out in early April your balance due was $50 but per you conversation with Iris that is still being looked into but we need to be afforded enough time to communicate with your ******** advantage plan to be able to give you a proper response. As soon as we have more information Iris will be in touch with you.

It is unfortunate that ****************** feels this way. We did in fact send the first statement on September 18th which we can provide proof on from our practice management software. Our typical cycle for statements is ***** days. From when care started at the end of July until the statement dated 11/13/21 two statements were sent out which is in line with most medical clinics. We have to wait 4-6 weeks for insurances to process claims in order to send out accurate statements. The insurance plan is a ******** advantage plan wherein most patients are aware co-pays are their responsibility. This is typically gone over with them by the insurance agent that sells the plan. The statements are reflective of those copays per patient responsibility after the advantage plan processed the claims. We understand the frustration that medical bills can bring and when patients call us after receiving statements we are more than happy to go over them and if arrangements need to be made we are always more than willing.
