On 11/16/21 I had a detached building catch fire, this was a building where I performed work on hot tubs as a hobby and probably grew into a business, however 3 years later I built a building behind it for my personal use , for things such as welding wood working and storage for outdoor things such as chainsaws power washers and so on, this building had its own doors it's own electrical feed and panel, a concrete floor rather than dirt floor different roof height, and was not part of hot tubs, so farm bureau adjuster comes out and looks things over and tells me I have up to ****** in clean up with policy, and to get to estimates and in meantime gonna send out investor over fire cause, and I am not to touch anything, guy comes here for 4 hours and leaves and tells me to not touch anything. Over Thanksgiving I talk to adjuster and he tells me he doesn't have numbers in front of him but things looking good. Then I he does a recorded phone conversation with me, where he tries everything trick in the book to get me to say that anything but the power strip caused fire, then had me so confused on what was used for tubs and what wasn't, I did my best to keep up with misdirection, and 3 days later calls me and says **** is all we can do cause I don't have business insurance and they will eat ***************************************************** my checking. Now I went to school too, and if I'm an adjuster shouldn't I look at policy first before I tell client he has ****** in coverage just for clean up, Farm bureau estopped themselves on this claim, never once mentioned anything about personal belongings in the fire, abd here's **** have a good time rebuilding shop and sorry about probably ******* in tools and parts and my personal belongings. I have been with them for 16vyears, had my wife not woke me and me fighting fire with power washer half naked screaming call fire department my garage which is attached to house been nexBusiness response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined the response would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
They said metal.building structure, which is correct, but they did not say wood framed building that was built behind of it 3 years later that had a concrete floor , other building did not, its own entry door. It's own power source, and separate from hotvtub refurbish building, and a hotvtub never seen the inside of that building. I had my welders , plasma cutter and just a whole bunch of tools and personal belongings, I was sheet metal worker for 25 years before I did hot tubs , I've never heard of anyone welding on a hot tub, that building received tons of damage, what fire didn't get , fire department got the rest, I made a list of personal things and farm bureau is not doing their job. The adjuster on day one told me I had ****** dollar coverage for cleanup. So why would ***************** tell me get 2 estimates if had no coverage, and waiste money sending fire investigator out to look. I'm no genius but I'm led to believe I have coverage, and they estopped themselves right there. He told me before Thanksgiving that he didn't have numbers in front of him but after holidays he would let me know basically how much or what insurance would do. Then after Thanksgiving tells me I don't have coverage and how quickly he can deposit **** in my account and eat ****************************************** them. I didn't give him my account and few days later a check arrived. But I feel like a cold homeless man begging for food and someone throws me half French fry out the window. Farm bureau was looking for a loop hole, but telling me I'm good faith that I'm covered then put on the brakes and tell me im not. Should they not know their own policies and mislead customers who have paid them alot of money over the past 16 years for insurance. I believe I've been done wrong and have coverage of something coming if not the entire mess . Me being the little people once again getting bullied by bigger corporation, I'm just trying make honest living on what I love. I called on December 10th to cancel our term life policies(mine and spouse) and was told I needed to complete a form that they emailed me. No guidance on how to complete the form was provided. I completed it and emailed it. A week later they claim not to have received it. I emailed it again. Throughout this time I have been monitoring my bank account to see if my normal payment for the insurance did not come out. Well guess what, half of the amount was deducted on 12-21-2021. I called and they told me that: 1. my form wasn't filled out right and 2. we both had to complete a form. They said that they couldn't stop the deduction from my account since it was already completed, so I asked for a refund since my intent was to cancel the policies. The person I spoke to said no, but if I get the forms to them it shouldn't come out next month. Due to their lack of guidance on how to complete the form for cancel the policies they have taken money from my account and I want it returned.Business response

I reviewed the email I sent to INFB with the needed forms on the 21st and there were 2 separate PDF's attached. One for my Policy and one for my wife. The message from INFB says they got mine, but not my wife's form. How can that be if they were both sent in the same email?I am attaching a screen capture of the email where you can see 2 attachments. I am also attaching screen captures of each pdf where you can easily see each different policy and signature. I inked out our SS#. They claim the forms were blank which you can see is not accurate. Also nothing was mentioned about the lack of instructions given to me on my initial call which led to this entire predicament. I feel like this could have been avoided if I had just received better instructions initially. There was no mention of a refund for the amount specified for the debit to our bank account. I expect all of these things to be addressed.

I recently moved into an assisted living facility and decided I should not be driving right now. I contacted my auto insurance carrier (Farm Bureau branch located at ************************************************************************ *****) on November 15th and canceled my policy. It has now been 30 days and they have not refunded my premium refund check in the amount of $329.70. I paid them $465 for a policy that started on 10/4/21. This is one of the worst exhibitions of customer I have ever experienced,Business response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this response/resolution is satisfactory to me. One point I want to make perfectly clear is I originally requested a refund check and not for the company to use my money toward future premiums. Personnel within this branch botched my request and it took twice as long as it should have to get my money.
