DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT BUY A HOME FROM BAIRD HOMES OF SEYMOUR!I bought my house roughly 4 years ago and have had issues from day one. The most recent issue is with my roof. There was a wind storm that came through the area woke up next day to find damaged shingles. I had a professional roofer come look at the damage. I also walked the roof with him. He determined the entire roof was installed improperly. After walking the roof the shingles were in a wave not even close to a straight line, nails in the middle of shingles exposed to the elements, previous damage from what looked like a tree hit the shingles on the way to the property, and nails popping through several areas of shingles causing them to damage. I reached out to Baird Homes with pictures. I was told it was Commodores problem which they said wasn't. So without notice two guys from Baird Homes showed up at my house to look at roof while raining. The one guy who claimed to be certified with the state said I had an attitude when I questioned why he was going to pop up more shingles and caulk them back down (still raining) when there was already damaged shingles to look at. He questioned my roofing guy over the phone basically told him he didn't see any damage. After he said I had an attitude he didn't do anything else, they left and the next day I recieved an email stating everything was wind damage and they won't replace anything. This place should be put out of business and if I could put zero stars I would have.

We strive to provide a high standard of work and service and have done so for more than 75 years. Quality is vitally important to the longevity of our homes and the peace of mind of our customers. What further disturbs us is the claim that there were issues from day one and according to our records, there have not been any service requests, claims or complaints from this customer within the stated 4 year period. With that being said, we cannot verify the credentials or the integrity of the professional roofer hired by the customer who has stated the home needs a new roof and/or that the whole roof was installed incorrectly. It would seem if this was the case the home would not have passed inspections and problems would have persisted before the storm damage. We can only speak for our employees, contractors and manufacturers who we hold to a high standard. The manufacturer of the home, ****************************** recently made their inspection after our request and found no fault in the installation of the roof. After the client s independent inspection, our local Operations Manager and Service Manager made an onsite inspection to the obvious conclusion that the roof had severe storm damage for which a claim should have been filed by the client to their insurance provider. We are unsure why the client is reluctant to do so when the ultimate outcome would provide the needed repairs or replacement. It is unfortunate the customer has sustained this damage to their roof, however, it is not reasonable to think that Baird Homes or the manufacturer should be responsible for acts of God.
